With our new running and gunning, fastbreak, back door cuts, and wide open 3's where will Yao fit in? Maybe i missed a slower game in the 2nd half because i was studying. But in the 1st half i noticed alot of run, and i thought the rockets have become so trigger-happy where does Yao fit in? He certainly CANNOT run? So do we see if HE can start running or do we adjust OUR offense?

When Yao comes back we are going to stop running.

Yeah and then all our new guys (anderson, pops, budinger, ariza) will have to adjust to that :(

Yao will become Brad Miller 2.0. No more post up moves for him. ;)

can we not worry about what if yao returns right now? there is much to happen in between now and then.

and keep in mind we played against a gsw team, that doesn't play a lot defense. how many pts we scored in the game before in portland?

let the season unfold a bit and then we can talk more. as of now, i am keeping my hopes low. and it can be a good thing for the team if there is nothing expected out of them.

Common misconception. On plays where the team runs to the offensive end and gets off a quick shot, Yao doesn't have to follow them. He can actually take a breather. When we continuously do a half-court offense, that's when Yao gets winded because he gets no possessions off.

Give Yao about two months before he's out again. Theres your answer, and I'm not being cynical. Its the cold harsh reality.

This team needs to move forward with the realization of Tracy and Yao not being part of it so we can have a future.

How Kareem fit in with "Showtime", is how Yao will fit in with "Meh'time"...

    Rebound, outlet, post...

    Possible pipe runner? Luis Scola...

We'll run, run, run so that our team can be closer to the championship than GSW, NYK, and PHS.

I think you're getting a little confused. There is run and gun ball (old phoenix,GS,d'antoni and nelson, VERY ineffective) and there is MOTION offense, which is rooted from the Princeton offense. Both are VERY different. Yao would not be able to fit into a run and gun offense (it sucks in effectiveness anyways) But he can fit into a motion offense, which has been proven to be effective on the collegiate and professional level.

yao is a lottery right now. we don't know how he will do if and when he returns. we know his work ethic is unmatched, so there is hope. but can he return to his top form? idk. try not to think about him right now.

    LOL. You guys are funny.

This team fits around Yao, not the other way around.

    what he ^ said

In run and gun you're looking for a very quick shot, eventually it changes the rythm of the game and you've got both teams shooting very quickly, which means more posessions and therefore a higher score. Houston is doing more things on the perimeter now, that's it. They're still dribbling up and setting up. Sure, there's more fastbreaks now, but that's a good thing because it means Yao won't have to run back to post up on as many possessions.
