I wondering if I could make a mini-vacation and see a couple of Yao's games when he comes to the US in the fall. I know he's going to be playing in Oakland and Indianapolis. Anyone have any idea of the exact dates or where I can find the info. Is there a place to find info on tickets? Also, I heard they will be arriving in August (?) to train in the US. Anyone know what city they are going to be in and if the practices will be open? I just thought it would be cool to get a sneak preview of Yao if possible...probably a reach though. os
I did find this: http://usfdons.ocsn.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/050802aaa.html The United States will play an exhibition game against China at The Arena in Oakland on Thursday, Aug. 22, 7 p.m. (pacific time). Tickets for the USA-China game will be available via the internet at www.tickets.com beginning on Saturday, May 25 And this...http://www.2002worldbasketball.com/eventinfo/schedule.htm
I bet the first exhibition vs the US will be on some channel. I haven't heard what network will cover the world championships yet. os
Here's the link on tickets.com to purchase tickets for the game on August 22nd in Oakland: http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=TDC&pid=952721 I've bought my seats. Anyone else interested in meeting up before or after the game? The Bay Area weather is a nice respite from the heat and humidity of Houston, so why not plan a trip? It should be history in the making. ballclub@earthlink.net
I will go see him play if he plays in Oakland. Scarface Clear up 2 of those 20 bedrooms you have. Primetime and I are coMING.
On November 1, 2001, the following core group of players were named to the U.S. Team for the 2002 World Basketball Championship coached by the Milwaukee Bucks' George Karl: Ray Allen (Milwaukee Bucks) Antonio Davis (Toronto Raptors) Michael Finley (Dallas Mavericks) Jason Kidd (New Jersey Nets) Shawn Marion (Phoenix Suns) Reggie Miller (Indiana Pacers) Jermain O'Neal (Indiana Pacers) The five remaining team members will be announced by USA Basketball at a later date.
anybody know who will be on the Team USA roster for the World Championships? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't want to post their names because you should easily check them out at http://www.2002worldbasketball.com, but I do want to give my comment here about how good the US roster is: All of them are top 5 players in their respective positions, but almost none of them belongs to top 2 (with an exception of J Kidd). In another world, this is not the best team US can send. Anyone agree with me?
