Oh, I bought it just for the nostalgia. Let me tell you, 8-tracks sucked back then and they suck now. They actually split some songs across tracks, so you'll be listening to a song, it will fade in the middle, then fade back up as it switches to the next track. Absolute worst invention ever. But it's interesting to listen to- they change the order around, so you get a different perspective. Mancrush drool- you're darn right. Seriously, I'm not a big fan of some of the 80s stuff, but the first 5 CDs and the last 4- absolutely great stuff, especially the latest (heh). And, at the least, I presented a case for why it should be recognized. YouTube rocks.
nice. i didn't know you liked metal. you know, mastodon is going to be in houston in november with dethklok (metalocalypse) and converge. cool s***.
well, I was gonna ask if you frequent pitchfork or TSB... but after viewing this... <object height="364px" width="575px" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://virb.com/external/video/11237/9DpATAac4o7sYAl0oJTJRCGi7e7ShAQ"><param name="movie" value="http://virb.com/external/video/11237/9DpATAac4o7sYAl0oJTJRCGi7e7ShAQ" /><param name="quality" value="best" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="salign" value="tl" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /></object> I should probably just forget it. btw, Mr. Brightside...I laughed. I really love the new Pearl Jam album. Alice in Chains' new one was better than I expected but not great. I can't think of anything else....
Do you have amnesia? It's 1992 dude. Countdown to Extinction was the best metal album of the year, while Alice In Chain's Dirt continues to shine the light on the Seattle grunge scene. I have an advanced copy of this album called "Music" by this new band 311. Definitely a band to watch.
You should check out all the artists at http://westernvinyl.com/artists/ if you haven't. Stuff ya may like.
why did I think Balmorhea was signed to Magic Bullet records? hmm... anyway, I love Sleep Whale (mom), I saw them in Austin earlier this year, they have a couple of unique instruments, I think, maybe .... homemade? maybe I can find a youtube video of them playing 'em, but really cool sounds. nonetheless. I have heard Bexar Bexar, not a huge fan, but I will give all those other artists a listen for sure. Thanks for sharing.
