I know he retired, but any chance we can get him back? Chuck at 6'6 can not play center.

Deke at 50 years old with no hops is a better re bounder and shot blocker than anyone else.

I'd trade Budinger, Pops, Dorsey and "cash considerations" for 50something Deke

Though as much as I love Deke, he won't be back so we can only play with the hand we are dealt with.

Should've said we need a center, because all this talk about Deke or whoever is not playing anymore or not for us is useless. I understand your point and no matter how smart Morey thinks he is, or fans think he is, I think it's a joke when a team has a 6'6 guy as a starter and no true center. Sometimes you just have to think short term and in the Rockets case long term which should've started years ago. The Rockets have walked around with just Deke as a back-up for ages and didn't even use him so there's no other way to look at it then realising the Rockets management, GM, coach are plain stupid for handling the Center position the way they do and have done for the last 5-6 years.

I've mentioned how important Deke was to our previous 22 'success' and even last year. I don't think people understand how great of a defender and rebounder he was even at age 50 or whatever he is. He's leagues better than any one we have right now in the paint...sadly.

I'm waiting for the first "We need Stevie Franchise back." thread to pop up this season.

Did you SEE his face when he was injured? I hear he still is in recovery from that plus with his age, Mt. Mutumbo is not coming back except for Private "Engagements".

I see your point and agree with most of what your saying, but Morey's 1st rocket target in the offseason was the center Gortat. No true shotblocker on this team is going to be there undoing this season and being offensively challenged without Tracy is going to be tough.
