Barkley on TNT - "Rockets will have the worst record in the West."

Barkley has been right about this team the last few years.

 

Barkley's a hog-fat gambling fiend with a serious drinking problem.

I hope he is correct and we get a super high lotto pick - the Rockets are in complete rebuilding mode, like it or not. I know some will never accept that the Yao-tracy era is over, just like some won't accept that the Francis era is over, and some won't even let go of the Rudy era - but trust me, it's over.

 

This year, I hate the lotto system.....

Listening to anything basketball related Barkley has to say is asinine.

 

This thread needs to be stickied throughout the season.

 

I made one mistake, he actually had 2 surgeries on that knee.

And btw, you're talking about that 'love' in your every single post to me. Do you have any problems with it?

 

The Yao-era has already come to a screeching halt. He's too fragile and doesn't assert himself late in games... he's had ample time to take this team by the reigns and lead Houston to the glory lands, but he can't do it. He doesn't have the fire, the urge to demand the ball in the final minutes of a key game, or the leadership qualities of a true franchise player.

I'd like to see Morey clean up the roster, and start with a clean slate in '10-'11. No T-Mac, no Yao, no Battier. AB0 runs the show, Ariza's mans the wing, and we draft a shooting guard in the lottery. Morey can lure in a big fish like Bosh, or possibly Dwayne Wade. It's time to retool.

but on the other hand ......like it or not....its true guys......we are gonna stink this season plain and simple.....

no yao, no tracy, no artest, no SIZE UP FRONT equals murder for the rockets man...

dont you all know this is the west.....the hardest conf they have and that most seasons we can have a 50 plus team not even get in the playoffs?????......top that with the fact we are in arguably the toughest division in basketball with the hornets, spurs, and dallas and it spells a recipe for disaster......so call charles a hater and he is one but we are not gonna do much this season guys....plain and simple

and young gun teams like the blazers and denver are gonna get better this season, with the stable of lakers, spurs, utah, new orleans, dallas.....thats 7 playoff spots right there......anybody after that is anybodies guess.....and anybody who thinks we might not have the worse record in the west better think again....we just might have it.

we are not head and shoulders better than phoenix, minnesota, sacramento .....memphis, oklahoma, and golden state we MAY be better than. but really the only one we are head and shoulders better than is th LA flippers.....other than that its a toss up and u dont know who is gonna be worse.

our worse thing is like the dam texans in the afc south......with the colts, jags, and titans(well not this season lol).....our division games are gonna kill us...playin spurs, neworleans, and dallas i think 4 times each is gonna amount to quite a few losses on its own IMHO

 

we won't be the worst in the west, and we will still have a shot at the playoffs.

We're not a bad team. Barkeley is sometimes right, and often wrong.

Last night showed alot of what I think we will be like this season. We played hard and did not quit, but did not have the horses to pull out a win. I don't think we will tank, but I think we are probably going to be lotto bound.

 

I think we shouldn't be tanking the season for the sake of getting high picks next year. Loser mentality is not good thing to have and it doesn't go away easily.
Also, we want to develop our young crops, AB, Landry, Lowry. Have them play real is the best way to get them much needed expriences. But that doesn't mean freewheeling on their parts. To the contray, I think we need them play disciplined ball to achieve the developmental purpose.

However, I don't really care if we end up being the bottom of the West. I think that's a good thing for our future.

 

If Barkley said the Rockets would be one of the worst teams in the West, then I think at least more people would agree with that. This team is not gonna be the worst of the worst but they're gonna stink.

And let's face facts, this team is gonna be bad, the sooner that gets ingrained in our minds, the better. We will be lucky to even sniff a playoff spot once this season plays out.

We should be looking for improvement in the development of our players, not some delusional expectation that this team is gonna do something this year.

 

The best thing that can happen to this team is to miss the playoffs. It's time to start surrounding our role players with some talent for a change.

 

His batting average on predictions is laughably bad. How many times during the streak did he declare that the streak would end that night? He picked Portland to beat us in the series last year.

 

Dont take it personal. Barkley talks crazy ...thats just his personality.
