Sorry Charles, but if you grow any more "as a person" you'll replace Pluto on the planet table.

Well, besides his awful prediction about Yao Ming, which I think was just a prediction Charles made because he had never seen 7'6 Chinese guys play NBA ball (a lot of other 'experts' predicted that Yao to be a bust too..) , I'd say Charles has a pretty accurate gauge of who is a championship calibre player or not.

Despite all his criticism of the Houston Rockets, can you really say he's wrong? It's not like Barkley is saying these things while T-mac and Yao are out winning rings or going deep into the playoffs....and, Barkley actually gave some props to the Rockets during last years playoffs, and rightfully so since the Rockets and Yao Ming actually displayed some championship traits last year: resilency, composure, and heart...the man does appreciate.

All in all, while Barkley isn't a very cerebral or analytical person, he has very good instincts that would make him a good GM in my books. Besides, a GM's job isn't to be analytical or detail oriented (although it doesn't hurt, eg. Daryl Morey). It's to make the macro decisions and decide if a player is good or bad.

Perhaps a scouting job would be more suitable for him, actually, since I think you need both brains and instincts to be a good GM.
