This is actually the account of my friend as he told it to me this week.
Anyway, I didn't talk to my friend for too long, so that's all I remember. I tried to get him to post it on the forum, but he isn't a member yet, so I guess he didn't feel like it.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting to hear Cato say he was excited about this season. I wonder if Rudy has talked to him about what his role might be or if Cato just has his own ideas? I think Cato can be a force if he just dedicates himself to playing hard for 20-25 minutes a game and doesn't worry about fouls, etc.

Cato will become the best backup center in the league and an important part of the rotation-- believe it or not.

Did he say anything to your friend about Ming or did he just say he was excited about the season?

i think cato can be one of the best back-up centers. ming and cato's games may compliment eachother.

they will be a nice tag team at center.

One of the best things about having the both of them, we will be one of the few teams in the NBA with 2(!) 7 foot+ centers. I'm looking forward to changing the lineup a little and running both Cato and Ming at the same time. Who can compete with that?

Cato will do the job in the backup role nicely. As long as he doesn't get lazy because he isn't the starter anymore. Whatever we have to do to keep Collier off the floor, we will be in good shape.

I would love to play the twin towers together since Ming is more of an outside player and Cato is more of an inside player. They would compliment each other well. However the only way it would work is if Cato really became the boss under the boards.

Heh, would anyone say to his face that he was overpaid? I wouldn't either, and I don't blame the guy.

Ming will need some time to adjust to the physical play of the NBA so at the beggining he will pick up a bunch of cheap fouls so Cato will definitely be an important part of the Rockets next year. Hopefully Rudy talked to him to let him know that. I'm still down w/ Cato.

Cato, the only thing he needs to improve is his offense, and his foul trouble. He doesn't last very long when he is in the game, but as a backup center, that's perfect!

Who is this clown? Do we really have to deal with this moron? What is with the stupid signature? I'm sure we can do without the censored N I double G A reference.

Catoinstitute: Thanks for enlightening us with your opinion. Now it's our turn to enlighten you:

    1. You are the only one who thinks that he is underpaid.

    2. It wasn't my opinion - but thanks for calling me a jackass anyway.

    3. Personal attacks are unwelcome at clutchcity.net. If you would like to continue to support Cato on this board, please refrain from them and try to support your arguments with facts and some semblance of intelligence.

    4. Many fans at clutchcity.net want to cheer for Cato. We think he could be a quality backup center. However, you are not making it any easier to cheer for him.

    5. There is a feature in the user control panel for creating signatures. Check it out and your sig won't be quoted along with what you say.

Sonny: I guess you missed my other post on that. The management office is putting the kibosh on large groups using the gym. It really sucks....but some people were abusing the priviledge.

What have Kevin Cato done to you? Why are you saying all these things to embarrass Cato?

i've met cato a couple times, he was very polite and friendly. we discussed cars rather than basketball however. my opinion is that cato improved a great deal towards the end of the season and having yao to practice against will help him to improve his post moves and rebounding. i'm not saying that i think he is under or over paid, only that i believe that the likelihood of his further improvement is good.
