That may be the case with some others, but not me. I’ve never been about the blood and guts. I’m more about the disturbing imagery and semi-realistic plotline. A plotline I can relate to tends to creep me out more than the blood guts and gore. Perhaps I was too hard on Psycho. I think it’s actually a good movie, just not scary at all. I would put it more in the ‘suspense’ category. I’m sorry, but a guy in a wig with a knife doesn’t do it for me. And the mother’s voice just seemed cheesy to me. I agree that it was a good movie (LOVED the opening theme music!), I just don’t think it was in the least bit scary. You may be right that it’s because it’s been imitated and spoofed so many times.
