Nash is aging at the same speed as the rest of us...one year at a time. What you should look at is his production which has remained consistent since his MVP years.

Also, its not like our window of opportunity with Yao looks to be very long either.

Not too sure about the "sky high" potential. IMO, at his best, Brooks' could be a very light version of Iverson. He doesn't have the ball-handling abilities or explosiveness that Iverson used to have, and he lacks the court vision of a true pg.

I believe this topic arose around last year's trade deadline when Yao was still playing.

Yeah, I too think we need to start over somewhat. I also think that CD will never, ever, let Yao go, so I try to think accordingly.:)

    Nah mean?

Well obviously sir. I wasn't speaking in literal terms. What was your point in arguing that? You knew what I meant..

He's only 23... Third year in the NBA and second year on the court.
    Give him time to develop...
It wasn't til Nash's 5th year that he became relatively good.
Brooks does have very good handles. He doesn't blow by his defenders by speed alone.

So you would let go of Yao even if he comes back strong and we cut his salary?

If you're not talking about his literal age, then you must be implying that his play has declined. His stats suggest otherwise.

I've never seen a player develop good court vision.

Actually, IMO, he does get by defenders using speed alone. Why do you think he had problems last year against Lakers in the playoffs when Farmar started guarding him instead of Fisher?

LOL @ using trade rumors as a weapon. Let me ask you a question then. Was there any trade rumor involving MJ?

Trade rumors usually come out after a star player claims he's unsatisfied with his team. All Kobe's trade rumor came out after he wanted out of LA. KG's trade rumor came out after a few seasons' slump and clearly Timberwolves weren't going anywhere. Ray Allen is not someone you can build a team around him. As a complementary player of course there will be trade rumors around him. As for TMac, believe it or not TMac never claimed he's not happy with this Rockets team. And he IS one of the most importance piece of the Rockets except for the last season. Just a few years ago in a playoff game only 8 baskets from Rockets were not scored or assisted by TMac. You honestly believe there would be trade rumors involving him?

Well if the Rockets somehow sneaked into the playoff and TMac had his career average number it's good enough to put him into the MVP consideration. All in all vegas expected us to only win 35-37 games this season.

Well since CD retired a couple of years ago, I am not sure he has a say.

It's not going to work with those 2 anymore.

There has never been a season where both of them are healthy enough to make a difference so cross out this season as year 6th and next season will be year 7 and we are to expect better results as they decline?

Let me remeber you that T-Mac has not been showing all star form on consistent basis for a long time now.

I think to have a good player in return would be enough.
Damn, Give me sjax and i'll be happy. Call GS now.

Players i wouldn't want are, Vince Carter, Corey Maggette, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon.

lack of character, he's a quitter, blah blah blah. If he has such poor character and was such a quitter, why didn't he just retire? Why has he worked with Tim Grover and busted his arse the last 6 months? For a contract right?

You will dog the guy until he's gone. It's as simple as that. I don't hope - I wait and see. That's the rationale thing to do. If Morey wanted t-mac to be gone, he'd have moved him by now. Have you considered that? Do you really think Morey would have to wait until the trading deadline to move him?

If Morey thought all his value was an expiring deal, why would Morey even talk about T_mac's return and contribution? He wouldn't. He wouldn't bother.

People here are just saying let's wait and see, why is that so hard for you to do?

T-mac is not wiser???? C'mon...the guy is off course wiser - you think he's stupid? He's not. He's smart and he's been knocked a lot. You think he lacks character? You know what, it takes a lot of character to get back up after you've been criticized and laughed off by the media, the fans, and even mocked by your "teammate" Ron Artest. Yet he speaks positively about Ron.

    That's a lack of character?

You say we don't need a scorer like him, but someone who plays a team concept. Got news for you - we got a bunch of team guys, and we're projected to win 35 games. Our biggest deficiency???? SCORING!

    T-mac's biggest assest? SCORING!

Morey isn't a fool. DADA, say what you will, you will find 1001 reasons to get rid of T-mac, personally, I think you manufacture a lot of it. But it's fine...we've been through this, it frustrates me for sure that you won't even just wait and see for his return. Fine. That's your prerogative.

But can we have some peace at least until then?

They just need someone who can stay on the court. I certainly don't expect better results and we should, but the reality is after multiple surgeries those odds of staying on the court don't work in your favour.

This seems to be a popular thread, so I'll post this here...

--Josh Howard "could be out for weeks"
--Portland's Batum will undergo shoulder surgery.

Injuries could be the difference for us this year.. This time amongst our oppositon..

     :D

I see it much differently than you do, but sure, we can have some peace.
