[TV] The Amazing Race 15

As annoying as the lawyer is (and lord knows he is), his wife almost passed him on the last episode with her Fran Drescher-esque screaming. Good lord, I was close to muting the episode.

 

Teams I like:

Father/Son team. I usually dig parent/child teams, as long as they aren't annoying (and there have been a couple of those before). Usually the older parent can't keep up physically, but that might not be a problem for this dad since he worked on the farm his whole life.

Globetrotters team. How can you not like the Globetrotters. It's like not liking Santa Claus.

Aspergers Guy/Friend. I don't care a lick about the "inspirational overcoming a disability" BS storyline, but I'm liking this team just for the potential comedy. I figure the Aspergers guy will be good for one or two funny/weird/incongruent quotes an ep and so far they've delivered. Bonus points for giving the guy his jacket in Vietnam.

Soccer Girl/Guy. For some reason I like this team even though they haven't shown much personality so far. Maybe it's the fact that they're the only romantic couple that isn't an annoying bickering mess.


Team that I like more than I did before but not that much yet:

Team Zebra. I did not particularly like this team in the first two legs (too much shrieking and bickering). But they won me over a bit with the whole "Team Zebra" bit. I thought it was kind of funny and liked how they didn't shy away from the topic.


Teams I don't care that much about:

Gay Brothers. For some reason I don't really care about them. Maybe it's the fact that they're young fit guys, who tend to do well in this game.

Poker Girls. It seems like the show was kind of setting them up as the villians (or they were setting themselves up) but I just don't care. I don't hate them but I'm not rooting for them either.


Teams that I don't like:

The Christian Couple. Look, there's nothing wrong with being Christian and having a faith but this team was so obnoxious about it. She's talking about how they're so "pure" and how he "likes her for the right reasons" and yet during the duck challenge he was berating her worse than every other team in the race.


Teams that can't get eliminated fast enough:

Meathead Lawyer and Girl. Stupid racers combined with douche-bag behavior under the guise of "competitiveness". This team needs to get eliminated yesterday. Which probably means they'll hang on until the end.

 

I definitely also made the "she sounds like the Nanny...hahahah (nanny laugh" comment as well...

 

Wow, that was painful to watch last night.

Talk about going from the highest of the highs to the lowest of the lows in the span of just a few minutes. They ran a great race that day, sucks that they had to go out like that.

What was with that roided up lawyer doing the dance at the finish line? Even the host was like WTF?? As Clark W. Griswald would say....."sheesh, what a worm."

 

Poker Players - please go away. you're still annoying, though by virtue of less camera time not quite as painful as before. nonetheless, your endless luck angers me and your lack of skill and intelligence confirms that being successful at woman's poker is like being a great woman's golfer...snoore.

Jungle Fever - we get it. you're white. she's black. I have eyes! you don't have to tell me ever 5 seconds.

Tennessee Virgins - "what's my next task....what's my next task...what's my next task...!!! argh, why won't these guys give me the clue." go have sex, then learn to read.

Spiky-haired white boy - ok, you're hair is awesome. at first, i though maybe your friends had dared you to do your hair like that, but apparently, you work to maintain that thing of beauty. pretty sweet.

Gay brothers - I think they forgot you were on the show last night.

Montana farmers - buddy, DNA check time. are you sure that kid's your son? y'all are cool, anyway.

Caveman Lawyer & Nanny - you're so annoying, it's a joy to watch. i think you've successfully proven that if you just put your head down and try and muscle your way through everything without thinking, you can be consistently mediocre

Globetrotters - do us all a favor and win, please.

 

Which couple was it that didn't know who Jackie Kennedy was? How embarrassing.

 

Most of them.

 

Yeah, there were multiple teams that didn't know who Jackie O was. It was really sad. The Cambodians even knew who she was.

Sad also to see Zev and Justin go. The were a favorite to win and one of my favorites. That said....come on now, hold on to your passport...

 

I missed the ending. did they eventually find the passport? what happens if you lose it? Go to the embassy for help?

 

The Christians thought the woman was of Cambodian descent.

 

Was that one of the other options they threw out. Because I remember the christian guy saying that it was Queen Elizabeth.

 

they were never able to find it, and since that disqualifies them they were the ones who had to leave the race.

I'm gonna assume they had to go to the american embassy to get a new passport but they never said as much on the show.

Hate to see them go, but that is how the cookie crumbles...you gotta ensure you dont lose anything while doing the race...it never turns out well for people who have lost stuff in the past.

No big surprise that the only guy who knew that was Jackie O immediately was the older guy(I recognized her when they first showed the pic)....damn kids are hideously under-educated these days.

 

Agreed. And the Globetrotters continue to be my favorite Racers ever. Would like to see Mika and Canaan or the Poker Players go next.

 

Didja see the preview for next week? It shows him practically shoving her into the chute for the next high altitude thing they have to do. Bad move right there...cant wait to see how that turns out.

It's kinda scary how happy it made me to see Mr annoying lawyer and his equally annoying fiancee go bye bye. Poker girls next please...kthxbi

 

Globetrotters definitely had luck on their side this week.

I would have shoved her down the slide if she was my partner!
