I keep reading posters' desire to trade Moochie and that he could be a starting PG on a number of other teams. Would someone please identify those teams and what we could get for Moochie? Personally, I think we should keep Moochie. I think he has learned his lesson and will try to shed his reputation as "the little dribbler." However, I'd be interested in what other boardsters think he could fetch in the way of a specific player we need or a draft choice.
The only way we should keep Mooch is if he takes a pay-cut down to about 1.5/year. The only good thing he does on a consistent basis is hit the open man for the 3. Learned his lesson? You and Mooch hang out a lot or something??
moochie norris is the 3rd best backup pg in the league (bobby jackson and nick van exel), the only reason yall dont like him is because he played starter mins due to injuries of francis and no sf, but now that we have bostjan nachbar and hopefully glen rice will not be injuried and have a better yr i think we will see less of the small ball offensce we use to see so much with mooche/francis/mobley, i admit his contact is to high and if we could get good trade value for him like a round 1 pick or a expiring contract then id do it , its time to start freeing up cap space for francis/ming/griffin/nachbar
You could package him with KT and get Miller & Doleac from Orlando! That would be so sweet! Miller starts at the 2 with the Cat running for the 6th man award backing him up. Now we are cooking with Crisco!!
I would trade Mooch for a back PG/SG with an expiring contract and a first round pick. But I don't think there are any players who would fit that mold and any team stupid enough to give us a first round pick for Mooch. In other words, until Maddox proves himself, Mooch is too valuable to this team to be traded.
Mooche isn't going anywhere. No more trades, lets just see how this team does. Give this team a chance!
MLC1MGC2ALC3, Doleac plays for the Cavs, not the Magic, and he's a free agent so we could just sign him if we really wanted him.
(for the sake of argument) Sure MLC - but you are dreaming if you think that Mike Miller would dislodge Cuttino from the 2. Cat is the best value in a non-rookie contract at the 2 in the league. In addition, I believe that he is also the best two for the Rockets chemistry-wise as well. People hack on Cuttino for shooting too much, but that's what Rudy wanted him to do. Look at the facts. In his first year, Rudy asked Cuttino to play the point and he did it. His third year, Rudy asked him to score off of the iso and he did it. Last year, his role was to score again - so he did that. I believe this year people will be impressed by Cuttino's improved defense and shot selection as he shows the rookies how to play in the NBA.
Bucks need a scapegoat for going from ECF to lottery. Houston trades: PG Moochie Norris (8.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.9 apg in 27.4 minutes) PF Kenny Thomas (14.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.9 apg in 34.5 minutes) First Round pick in 2005 Draft Houston receives: PG Sam Cassell (19.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 6.7 apg in 35.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: -2.5 ppg, -6.0 rpg, and -0.1 apg TRADE ACCEPTED Bucks PG: Moochie Norris + Greg Anthony + Rafer Alston SG: Ray Allen + Michael Redd SF: Glenn Robinson + Tim Thomas PF: Kenny Thomas + Anthony Mason + Marcus Haislip C: Ervin Johnson + Joel Pryzbilla + Dan Gadzuric Rockets PG: Steve Francis + Sam Cassell SG: Cuttino Mobley + Oscar Torres SF: Bostjian Nachbar + Glen Rice + Terrence Morris PF: Eddie Griffin + Maurice Taylor C: Yao Ming + Kelvin Cato + Jason Collier
Well with Eddie and Ming blocking shots, Rudy can use a 3 guard line up of Sam, Steve and Cat more often. Sam is going to be 33 years old this November so he might be willing to be a reserve again to prolong his playing career.
Who is gonna hit all them buzzer beaters if we trade Moochie?? Moochie hit like 5 buzzer beaters last year.
