I found out this afternoon I have to spend the week in Portland, so I'm heading to the game Tuesday night. Anybody else going to be there?
me and a few of my friends are flying out there on tuesday morning for the game. if u want to possibly meet up send me a message
I hope we are not gonna get crush by the Blazer in this opening game, I got a bad feeling about this Brandon Roy.
It is not only about him. It's him, LaMarcus, Miller, better Oden, Outlaw, Fernandez. They have a damn good team.
yeah you are right. Roy is gonna get his, no one is gonna stop him from scoring. I feel we can still win if we let him get his and really play good defense on the other guys. the player that really scares the ***** out of me is LA. The guy can ball. Non of our players can matach up against him, either too short of too slow. The thing now is that without yao, we have no real interier player who can intimidate the opponintes. he can just post up against any of our PF or 'Centres'. Plus the fact that they got two 7 footers who are both great offensive rebounders. We just don't have the size to match up. Andersen is our only 7 footer, but the guy is soft as...he have no chance against those two (for some reason he remind me of a dirk type player). hayes will do a decent job, then LA will just domininate us. Lets just hope that we can put up a good fight.
Yes, i believe we are the win. You know, Shane is a greater defender , he can contorl Roy and also can shoot many three, Hayes is our min-center, but he do more we can see.
We were planning on going, but my wife's only been back at work a few weeks and felt weird asking for a day off already. We definitely plan on picking up cheap seats for the second game in Portland.
A competitive game but a loss should be fine. Portland was a good team last year, and they've definitely improved on paper. The Rockets, on the other hand, with the current roster, would be lucky to play .500 ball - just a fact. Scrappy, athletic, fun to watch...sure, but that doesn't mean you're a playoff contender. The only two thing they have going for them this game is the fact that (1) it is Portland's first real game with their new PG, and (2) that team seems to have a tendency to get "over-hyped"..and with the playoff revenge factor, that might happen. Oh yeah, have fun in Portland!
I hope i'm wrong, but I think the blazers will beat the brakes off the rox. There is matchup problems all over the floor. Oden will bully hayes which is saying a lot. Neither ariza or battier has a advantage over either of their wings. Brooks will have to dominate miller which I doubt he can do. I think with last yrs playoffs and the rockets having 0 in the middle, it will be a rip city ass kickin.
The Rockets need to go out there and just play physical. What they lack in size they'll have to make up with meanness. I want to see Mutombo style elbows to clear out rebounds.
A friend of mine is going to the game, I'm so jealous. Losing is expected, but I want to see how this first game will define what type of team we are for the nex month, which is filled with tough games
Damn, tickets are expensive these days. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if there are any deals. Right now, I'm looking at Section 203. Anyways, I'll head over there after work... should make it to the Rose Garden about 6:00 or so. I'll look for Rockets gear.
The Blazers instituted a new ticket policy where they price games differently according to who the opponent is or what day of the week it is, so opening night is going to be pretty expensive, as opposed to a midweek january game against the Wizards.
