Brooks is our Bibby...in a read and react you have to be a threat to score.

I like Lowry and love the change of pace he brings.....but it will be interesting what happens with the regular season refs and them not falling for his bulldogging into people.

Look at the stats in the playoffs for why he is not starting, nor should he be....

All this for a second rate, back-up PG, and a solid (aging) starting PF (that I would hate to lose), it is a deal you would HAVE to accept.

You're kidding, right? A "second rate back-up point guard?" So I'm assuming you're a Rafer Alston fan, considering that Rafer is a first-rate backup point and an average to mediocre starter at the position. Not to mention 29 year old Luis Scola. Yes, 29... I guess Luis is ready for the pasture, over the hill, "second rate" simply because he's 29 years old. A 29 year old 4 who's never missed a regular season game as a Rocket. Interesting that you are more than willing to trade the two players that kept us in the LA series last season and earned raves around the league, helping the Rockets to take LA to 7 games, something no other team could do, much less a team without both its super stars. All that for a 21 year old fellow with character issues from his past, who may turn out to be a heck of a player for years to come or who may not be.

Really, I am at a loss. What the heck, at least this is an opportunity to suggest that you lose the "I've got 132 REP POINTS!!!!!" thing in your signature. No one else does it. It demeans the reasons Clutch has tried having rep points for members of the BBS and, as far as I know, no one likes it except you. Thanks in advance!

I agree Brooks should start, but Lowry is exceptionally adept at drawing fouls--he's uber-agressive, and the refs always go for that. I don't think it will change much at all when the regular refs resume calling the games.

Lowry is restricted. If someone like philly offers him mle money in the offseason and being from philly, its a wrap. That's why I think if they rockets get a good offer from someone, they should move him and bring back conroy.

If you have watched Michael Beasley play ball, and you believe that, you know nothing about basketball. Fine if you don't like the trade. I admit, it is a risk. But never short change what Michael Beasley could be as a basketball player. He will be a perennial all-star in my opinion. If you can trade Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks for a 21 year-old star, you do it...

    Swing and a miss.

    A "second rate, back-up pointguard."

Not, A second rate back-up pointguard.

    Notice the difference?

As for Luis, I hate to see him go, but for a 21 year old talent like Michael Beasley I would show him the door. Talent and heart win in this league, and we need more talent.

The Sig is here to stay, until Clutch says otherwise. Until that time, go pitch a tent Deckard.

I've watched beasley play a lot and I don't see the all star u suggest. Now I didn't say the idea of the trade was all that off, but beasley is a classic tweener. He's not big enough or strong enough for the 4 nor is he quick enough to play the 3. He's in the marvis williams mold which equals a solid nba player, nothing special.

Brooks and Scola are the core of this years team offensively. Trade them for a hot rookie is very risky indeed.

Yup, I see that for sure. Scola is the guy that I want to retire as a Rocket. Same with Chuck, Shane and Yao...

How about Landry, Brooks and McGrady? I know you guys like that...Well, most of you anyway.

LeeBig, I don't know man, he makes scoring and rebounding look all so easy. I am going to favorite this thread, and if he turns out to be an all-star, please don't be offended if I bring it up. I won't be if he is a bust...:)

I notice that Deckard made a rare boo-boo in that pgs are still spelled with two words AFAIK. knote32, the quotation marks were to quote what you'd said (I think you understand that) but if you wish Deckard to explain to you what a comma does or does not do he'll likely gentlemanly oblige.

    Pathetic man.

What he said makes no sense, because he has misinterpreted what I've written.

He is a second rate, backup PG.

He is a second rate backup PG.
    -------------------------------------------------------

I wrote the first one, which makes sense. Obviously he is not a second rate backup PG. He is a second rate, backup PG. Comprende?

Sorry about the spelling error. I didn't know it was such a big deal. Oh well, I think you just need to relax a little bit. I eagerly await you and Deckard's replies...

I don't know, I remember Lowry having trouble getting those fouls called in the playoffs. I think the refs swallow their whistles more in the postseason and that hurt Lowry's offensive effectiveness. I'll be interested to see how he adjusts this season.

That said, I can see Lowry's consistency and defense being better for the starting lineup right now. And as much as I like his scorer's mentality, I'm not sold on Brooks's ability to set up the offense for his teammates on a consistent basis.

trading almost any of the players on our team can be a risk, unless we get a legit all-star in return.

you have to look at the other side though...if you had beasley and were a GM would you trade away a potential superstar for some role players and a oft-injured star?

    Probably not.

Doesn't that depend upon what they feel about Beasley?

    Ahhh, let's see....

Ultra-talented underachiever that doesn't play defense, rebounds only when the ball bounces right to them and has character/maturity issues? Yeah, there's NO comparison between them at all.

Seriously, dude. Just stop. You, of all people, playing the "you know nothing" card is something that should never happen on this board.

I would trade Brooks + Landry for Beasley

I would trade Ariza for Beasley

I would trade Battier for Beasley

Basically, I would trade anybody on this team for Beasley besides Yao.
