All preaseason games have been played. Rockets and Lakers did a free agent swap in the summer.

Artest will get fewer shots with a more talented team.
Ariza will get more shots and T-Mac will not be back in the 1st month.

Which player wins the scoring battle from October 27th-November 29th(no games on 11/30)?

The poll closes in 1 week. The results will be public and display all voters and their choices.

    Ariza, probably.

    More touches = more chances

Ariza will probably average around 12 to 14 while Artest around 10.

even if ariza avg's a double double and artest finishes november averaging 4pts and 5to's per game, ronron will still believe deep in his heart that he had the better month

Ariza is not his replacement. Period.
Ron's got a role of an enforcer and a chucker.

It's obvious they wanted Artest back, but he decided to bolt to L.a as i pretty much predicted that even before he became a Rocket is that he was a rental player. So then they went with the next best option.

So much for jumping off a building for Yao Ming heh, remember when Ron said he would do anything for Yao? But who cares, i'm believed they wanted him back, but at the same time had other plans.

It's no-brainer. Ariza will outscore Artest for sure. The rationale is simple: more shot attempts = more ppg. You could refer to how Iversion win so many points in his past career.

Ariza. Why? Because he will be playing on a team without 1st (Yao) and 2nd option (McGrady) so he will have more freedom.

You are right, I think I read something several days ago that he wanted to play for Fakers for only $1 a season. He has become insane for a ring.

If Artest, playing for the Lakers, scores more than Ariza this year, that will mean Artest is hogging the ball, and working outside of the carefully crafted schemes arranged by Phil Jackson. If Artest outscores Ariza, assuming both of them stay healthy, this will be very upsetting to the chemistry of the Lakers team, and could result in a major public rift.

Artest will remain the current better scorer but with Gasol and Byrant being ahead in the scoring option, I see Ariza flipping it in more often.

Artest sucks and will screw over the Lakers, his best days are 3 to 4 years behind him....the problem is he doesn't know that.

God help us if Artest does outscore Ariza with Artest taking fewer shots than Ariza. He was 5-14 2-8 on 3s in the Dallas game, I would like to see him not taking the majority of his shots from 3 pt. range because unlike the what most guys think around here he's not a great 3 pt shooter.

Totally agree, he is better as a slasher going to the rim and using his length, as a 3pt shooter, he is below average.

Not going to happen, to his credit Artest has been taking less shots in the pre-season. He seems to want to fit in and recognizes there are better offensive options than him on the team.

He will defer more so Ariza will have more looks.

Maybe but he's still a good player. The question remains can he get the Lakers over the hump against a complete Celtics team?
