First single "(If You're Wondering if I Want You To) I Want You To" <object id="bbg_player" width="370" height="220" data="http://www.babelgum.com/embed/4005373" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.babelgum.com/embed/4005373" /> <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="never" /> </object> I haven't heard anything else, haven't really sought it out either. The album cover was promising but this song doesn't really have me excited on the first listen.
I'm a fan of Weezer. You always know what you're gonna get when you buy one of their albums. Good catchy pop rock with a little hint of emo lyrics. I must say I enjoy there earlier stuff (Pinkerton, Blue/Green Album) more than there newer work. Good band though, can't go wrong with them if you like that genre.
It's a pop friendly song (which most of Weezer's popular stuff is...and I sorta like them due to their catchiness)...probably a safe entry. I hear it all the time on the cookie cutter "alternative" radio stations here in Vegas. BTW...my 3 year old son and 7 year old daughter absolutely love "Beverly Hills". Nothing is more fun than driving down the road with the windows down letting those two scream that song at the top of their lungs.
The Blue Album was amazing Pinkerton was pretty good Green was good The rest have been forgettable and disappointing. Hope this changes the streak of bad-to-mediocre albums
Red Album didn't suck. But with Maladroit and Make Believe preceding it, it's understandable that anyone would only want to remember the Weezer of 8+ years ago.
Heard this song last month, liked it a lot, Red Album was great, they could've released more singles off of it if they wanted to milk it, looking forward to the new album
Hopefully Rivers writes and sings all of the songs on the new album. I could probably look this up, but am too lazy. The three non-Rivers' songs on the Red Album always get skipped.
Really? I thought it was pretty disappointing. I haven't listened to the red album...I'll have to get it this weekend.
The only thing wrong with Maladroit was that they didn't put the radio/music video version of Keep Fishin' on the album. I think it's better than the Red Album.
I stopped buying weezer records after Maladroit. That being said, they've put out below average records, but within these records are 2-3 gems of songs. Still love these guy and I see them turning into a band like the grateful dead, not musically but in the following.... Is the new record any good? I dabbled in the Red album...pork n' beans was a great song even though it was a re-has of undone sweater song....
This is pretty much how I feel. I was a HUGE Weezer fan back in the 90’s. I even named my cat Weezer. But everything post-Pinkerton has been pretty bland overall. I still maintain that Matt Sharp’s departure had a lot to do with that. I think him leaving kind of made them lose their edge (especially live), but that’s another story. Like you, I still have a soft spot for them and I still like them. But I think every post-Pinkerton album has 2 or 3 great songs and the rest of them are just filler. That wasn’t true of their 1st 2 albums. Hell, every second of every song on the Blue Album was just pure genius. I guess it’s not really fair to compare their newer stuff to Blue, but I can’t help it. I do like this song and video, though.

5 bonus tracks on the UK deluxe release.... 11. Turn Me Round 12. Get Me Some 13. Run Over By A Truck 14. The Prettiest Girl In The Whole Wide World 15. The Underdogs never been a BIG fan of weezer, so I can't compare it to other albums...but this album isn't bad. I had to clean out the garage this morning and didn't want anything too deep, too emotional, or loud. Raditude was a solid fit. Lots of fun. Nothing special, but thats kind of what I was looking for.
