FIFA is better than PES atm, won't know for sure until the new PES is out but I'm pretty sure FIFA will still be better. Anyway challenge me if you catch me on sometime. Lemieux-
Get with the times Makedonac, PES is a terrible game now, Fifa 10 has easily surpassed it as the better game. Fifa 10 has better game play, graphics and now we have Virtua Pro where you create your own character, play ranked matches and build him. Nobody even cares about PES anymore, everyone if you are thinking about buying PES, dont be an idiot. Fifa sold 1.7 million copies in Europe for 1 week and has already sold a million in UK alone. If youd' like to play me on PS3, my screen name is InfiniteK. You better have some skill in this game otherwise you will lose by at least 8 goals.
Picked up FIFA tonight...couldnt resist. Played until 4 am and I am also currently developing a blister on my left thumb. Love it.
for you guys asking, PES 2010 is a far superior game, in every single aspect of a soccer simulation game. Controls are superior, pace is a little faster (better), graphics are a lot better (Fifa's graphics are pretty awesome when you use a zoomed in camera, but for regular camera it's awful), superior game play, idk how anyone would take fifa over PES. This whole notion of Fifa mysteriously "rallying" and beating out PES in the last couple of years is just absurd and I believe it has something to do with EA's superior marketing. I've owned/played both games every year for as long as I could remember, and aside from the very old PC version of Fifa (98 I believe, it was freaking awesome!), PES has consistently been better. I mean, you can't freaking score a goal in fifa 2008 unless it's a header or is from point blank range. I be shooting upper 90's with my boy Gerrard from 30 meters out in PES. granted, that's not very realistic (and they pretty much limited this in PES 2010 ), but it's so freaking awesome!
I guess its a personal thing. Ive played both most years and you're right about Fifa 08 being ordinary. However Fifa 09 and 10 are great games and I just personally prefer Fifa atm than PES. However I think you could pick either and you have a decent game, its not as bad as say picking NBA Live over 2k..... on that topic, there are people who still claim Live is the better game :|
I got this game on tuesday, 2v2 mode is tons of fun. I find myself playing that more than anything else.
What is the trick to do headers right? I seem to never score from crosses. I haven't had much time to play it, but still, its pretty damn hard to score!
that's the biggest problem I have with Fifa. By the time you learn some of those god awful complicated "tricks" to score, then new version will have already come out, and you'll have to get used to it all over again. PES is a lot more intuitive, you just test out the angles that you have to take in order to score and you pick the right players, and you're striking insane goals in no times!
Which game is more "realistic"? And I'm referring to the gameplay. Which game is less based on "cheese moves" that cheesers can exploit and more like real soccer? For example, Nba 2k's game play is much better and feels more like real basketball than Nba Live. I played WinningEleven10 (japanese version) on PS2 and it was so much fun, even though the graphics weren't great. The gameplay was just so exciting, much better than Fifa09 I had on PS3. And I don't know what you mean by scoring is so easy. Scoring was actually harder than Fifa and that's what made it more fun. That said, I agree scoring on crosses is damn near impossible on both games.
I've never played PES/Winning Eleven, but from what I've played of this year's FIFA, it's way more realistic and harder to score than last year. Shots from distance are a much more viable option, and the ease of both scoring in close and headers has been toned waaaaay down.
I just played the demo and this is EASILY the best sports game on the market right now. I have always found it pretty easy to score with a header and I really don't play too much.
Loving the game so far...im really in over my head with all these games that I have sitting here. And Forza on Tuesday is just making things that much harder.
LIST OF FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE BUGS: http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=37523 ...awful. I just spent untold amounts of time in this mode. Now my Coca-Cola League 2 team that I brought up has a total of about $100,000 wage budget (rather than, say, $1,800,000 for Chelsea), even though I'm in the Premiere League now. Combine that with the glitch that doesn't allow you to re-sign your own players before their contract, and together they mean I'm totally stuck without being able to get any new players that I want. I was working this whole time to get my team in the Premiere League and then sign Micah Richards and Mario Balotelli... now I can't even get one of those guys because they both cost more than my entire remaining weekly budget (upper $30ks apiece). Not to mention that pretty much every game in England is at night and in the rain, for no particular reason. Sooooooooo frustrating! How is it they released this game with so many bugs?
Wow, that sucks...Good thing Ive only played about 7 matches in my manager mode. Mostly focused on Be-a-Pro. This info kinda takes the wind out of my sails...I was really high on this game.
I just found out it gets worse... So, given my dilemma described above, I figured I'd try switching clubs to Chelsea, because they have a huge listed budget. I figured I could just slowly buy my old team back. Except when I got to the end of the season and switched to Chelsea, the game listed my budget as $2 billion in the hole. BILLION. No, that is not a typo! Yeah, little bug there. "Wind out of my sails" doesn't even describe it for me. I've always been a franchise mode junkie in every sports game. I totally love the GAMEPLAY in this game, but having a completely broken manager mode pretty much ruins it for me. And this is after I got through 3 seasons bringing freaking Shrewsbury up to the Premiere League. Seriously. I'm so pissed.
Srbine, PES introduced "create a player", originally known as "Become a Legend", so, get your facts straight, ok? Anyway, my bad I was talking about PC version of both games, I don't have console so I don't really know the difference now. Anyway PES10 for PC is out and it's way better (and harder) than FIFA. I played them both on PC, and goddamit - my oppinion
