That is bologna. No way there's a, strong, tall, well-dressed black dude in there without one of the white people giving him a "WTF are you doing here ?" look.
Mine was given to me by a MS salesguy at a Win7 demo. He gave out 5 copies of Windows 7 Ultimate. At that same demo, I also won an Intel X58 motherboard...it was a good day. Installed without any issues, working great so far. Haven't been able to re-install all of my games...doing that this weekend.
I have to agree with people who like Windows 7, but then I've liked Vista (post SP1, anyway). I'm running Windows 2008 Server at work as a workstation and Windows 7 at home on my laptop and both of them are doing great. I'm about to upgrade my main Vista box to Windows 7 Monday when my new video card gets here.
i bought windows 7 (home premium) 64 bit using my old student email for 29.99 like an idiot, i have 32 bit vista, so i cant upgrade anyone wanna buy it? i'll sell it for what i bought it for....i can upload the file so you can download it. i also have the product key. not trying to screw anyone here....just im an idiot...if you were planning on buying an upgrade, i can sell you mine
I got Windows 7 Pro x64 for free from the university. I got it through the CS department and Microsoft's MSDN. I'm enjoying it so far and I like its interface more than Vista's. No problems with it so far, but then again I never had problems with Vista either. My hardware was always good enough to run Vista well, so I haven't really noticed too much of a performance increase (other than less resource usage). My roommate also got W7 from the CS department and he installed it on his netbook. He's told me it has a lot better performance with W7 than when it had Vista.
Windows 7 rocks. Been running RTM since it was released on MSDN. It took a little while to appreciate all the new features but really MS did a really nice job. Windows 7... it was my idea.
i dont have another 64 bit OS....all are 32... unless, i can install a pirated version of vista x64 and upgrade with a genuine windows 7? too much trouble though. i'd rather sell it to someone who can use it legit.
Here are some new commercials for mac that I saw today. I guess great timing from Apple as they started airing these on the release of win 7. Like some of the previous commercials, I thought these were also pretty good. <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JoGYBxbe_bw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JoGYBxbe_bw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2lPFBnveyEc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2lPFBnveyEc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e4D5B8H0U8w&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e4D5B8H0U8w&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
If you had bothered to actually try the subject of your brilliant review you would realize that this is exactly what microsoft has done. I can't believe you spent this much time bashing an operating system you have yet to even try. An app store where developers get paid for their product? Its called windows compatible software and it caters to 90% of the computer market. This was literally the dumbest post I have seen in 9 years on Clutchfans.
As long as you know what your product key for Vista is, just go to the Microsoft website and I think you can ask for a 64 bit copy of Vista mailed to you. Format install 64bit version, then upgrade.
thanks i think i'll just do that....However, if i have the Dell OEM, will the CD they said only work on the Dell. Do i have to have an activated Vista to upgrade to Windows 7?
I love how there aren't that many "Windows 7" commercials, but Apple just does the advertising for them. Look, do you really have to be "better than this or that" for people (customers) to like you? You just have to be good. Apple just has to mention how much better in "customer satisfaction" they are by comparing themselves... they can't say they're good because they're good on their own. Nonetheless, Apple makes a great product, but they don't need to mention Windows at all. I guess they may have to, for people who are "new" to the PC or Mac world. I will try this Windows 7 soon... but on a brand new PC at home, not upgrading my old Dell with XP Media Center. Thanks, Apple, for letting me know Windows 7 is out already. EDIT: and to the Opening Poster guy, just try WINDOWS 7, man.
Are you kidding? That commercial with the little girl putting together her photo slideshow on Windows 7 is on all the time. It's not like Apple let the cat out of the bag. People would have figured out that Windows 7 was out soon enough, even if they didn't know the exact launch date. I do think Apple should do something with their commercials though- it's gotten a little stale.
