2001 Patriots won a super bowl and became a dynasty. 1999 Rams won the super bowl and were a good team for a short while 1998 Falcons went to the Super Bowl and were one and done. Last years Falcons and even more so Dolphins were huge surprises that made the playoffs.
Not sure. Fisher didn't all the sudden forget how to coach. But maybe that toupee-wearing buffoon of an owner (and I say that with the greatest of respect) will be stupid enough to fire Fisher and we can bring him in as a D-coordinator. Or maybe a DB coach. Come home, Jeff!
Jeff Fisher was considered a great coach less than a year ago. Funny how losing changes people's perspectives.
That changes this year. I remember everyone going crazy over the Falcons in 1998, and all the love that Vick got when he was there. I hardly notice them getting any local love now that they are in a position for sustained excellence.
I am not dogging him I am talking about the players They just don't seem to be trying Collins looks like garbage The Defense seems half *ssed Rocket River
yep. about a yard and a half away from being 5-1. (dam you chris brown). I know it sounds cliche, but I think the Texans are better than their record indicates as well.
The City of Atlanta loved Vick but they started warming up more to the team once they saw the success they were having towards the end of last year. I don't think the city will ever embrace this team like they did the teams Vick was on though which is pretty sad.
I am also getting tired of it - it has run its course and has run it quick. And the story you heard moe about the unis?? You be hearing right on that one.
Maybe if they make the Super Bowl this year the dirty bird craze might come back, and people in GA can quit crying over every UGA loss and actually worry about the football team that is a contender.
You don't think we're better than 3-3? We're fifth in total offense & second in passing. We screwed up at the goalline twice. Not saying that we would have ended up winning both of those games but losing to the Jags really surprised me. Also, Dunta is finally getting his groove back. Reeves' return has definitely helped as well. Cushing is getting better and better by the game. The Houston Texans have a young nucleus which can be good for years to come.
Uh, one that was with Shanahan in charge - he is not in charge this season. Two - that was with Cutler as QB which he is not this season. And three, that was when the defense was terrible - I highly doubt that this year's Broncos defense is going to give up 50 or more points in a game. I do agree about waiting and see if the Broncos are a legit Super Bowl contender after the games with the Ravens and Steelers, but to think they will have a meltdown just because they did last season is ridiculous.
You've been a fan for that long, but you chose to wait until the they're 5-0 to finally watch a game ? I'll be damned if I ever miss a Texans game.
I have watched all the games this year and I will have to agree with Surfguy. Yes, Romo has not been 2007 Romo but he cant be held responsible for the woes of his 3-2 team. There are always such high expectations of him and his team - its a battle that cannot be won. I have never been a knee-jerk Cowboys fan, so I don't feel bad at all putting the majority of our problems on team discipline. Penalties just kill us and that falls directly on the head coach. I'm sick of this team having no fire; Wade Philips "aw shucks" body language and attitude has run its course. We need to bring in a new 3-4 coach (i'm looking at you Bill Cowher) that has some fire. Of course Surfguy will be called a Tony Romo apologists, but that is just a part of being on this message board. Having an articulate, objective discussion on the Cowboys or Romo on this board is about as likely as an atheist getting a fair shake in a debate in the Vatican. The analysis of ESPN drones and haters of the team rarely touches on the reality of the situation: Tony Romo is a top ten quarterback who will sometimes A) play like a bottom third quarterback and B) play down to the level of competition (see k.c. last week - big numbers but a very average game from Tony) The big game wins will come eventually - I believe the best quarterback of our generation was labeled a big game loser until his relatively recent super bowl wins (peyton). As a Cowboys fan, Tony Romo is simply sublime in comparison to Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson and Ryan Leaf (I still cant believe ryan leaf lead this team, if even for a moment) He will do the most frustrating **** in the world but he is ours and it could be way, way worse.
23.8ppg 22.8apg Sounds like a .500 team to me. I expect the trend to continue with an L to SF, and win at Buffalo, L to the Colts, W against Titans, L to Colts. The Texans should end up with a winning record with the Jaguars, Seahawks, Rams, & Dolphins still on the schedule.
