If you liked the first MIB, then go see this one. I probably liked the first MIB better, but the second movie is still pretty good. B+ rating The movie was pretty short and somewhat predicatable but overall I liked it and I would say go see it at the matinee showing for 3.75 like I did. A pretty good comeback for Will Smith after Ali, Legend of Bagger Vance, Wild Wild West (I liked it!). Tommy Lee Jones was great as usual. Lara Flynn Boyle was HOT!!! Rosario Dawson didn't look too bad either. She need's a little sun, but otherwise very HOT!!! Some cool special effects, David Cross, a Jacka$$ and a talking dog, what more can you ask for?
Didn't you leave the theater feeling really empty. As though instead of paying to see a movie you just saw a made for tv movie with a lot of special effects...and the opening alien scene wasn't very good at all...no suspense or comedic value...just will smith running around screaming..its as though he slept walked through the movie delivering flat liines...hell a bad episode of Fresh Prince of Bel air is twenty times funnier. And the so called climax of the movie just fell flat. I heard the first draft of the script was really good...I wonder what happened to the movie.
I can definitely see your point, I never got drawn into the movie totally, but I still liked it. I noticed several scenes where everyone else was laughing except me, it could be that I had seen the line in a preview so I knew it was coming, but I think a lot of the comedy was flat. I still liked it though, I wish they would have made it a little longer.
I would rent the first one just to get a good perspective, they reference it some, but you could still see it and not be lost. Actually I bet you will like this one better if you haven't seen the first one, you won't have anything to compare it to.
The movie was left for everyone to guess because yet another sequel will happen. However anyone notice more aliens in this sequel? The Michael Jackson scene was a riot, Rip Torn is still comical as ever(Liked him in the larry sanders show) I give it a B- Too short of a flick and not enough of the Dog
laura flynn boyle looks like she has a huge head in that picture. Johnny Knoxville looks like he's a funny actor. ive never seen him in any major motion pictures. i think ill see it without seeing the first one.
I totally forgot about the Micheal Jackson scene - pretty funny. Undercover Alien (Micheal Jackson) : "I could be agent M" Zed(Rip Torn): "Umm your breaking up, I can't hear you." Holden : everything on Lara looks bigger in this movie.
MIB2 gave me the emptry feeling after it was over. There was not enough dialogue, all it was is a bunch of throw together events and bull**** like that. Total waste of time and money.
i heard on the news that Jackson filmed a cameo for MIB2 and MIB3 at the same time... guess that means they've already planned for this to be a trilogy?
I really didn't like it at all. I borrowed the first MIB yesterday (cuz I had never seen it)...and i was presently surprised. Then I saw the 2nd one some 6 hours later, and was completely disappointed. The love story sucked, everything was the same, michael jackson sucked (made me kind of sad)....and the worst part about the whole movie was that it was like "Dr. Doolittle 3" with all the talking dogs and bugs... Was I the only person that didn't laff at any of the dog's jokes??
Hoop you didn't think the dog singing one of the oldies was not funny? I bet now we see a flood of pugs as the popular breed of animal now. While excited for JKnoxvilles new movie Jackass coming out his character in this part was pretty lame. But people will flock to see it and it wil make millions. "Knod ya head"
Completely pointless film. Had some moments, but....pointless. The movie's short, hence the best thing about it: lots of previews. Including "The Two Towers."
Just got back from seein this movie and I thought it was pretty bad. I was never really into the story and the love story thing was pretty lame too. The MJ scene was pretty funny. The ending I didnt really get, anybody care to explain without spoiling it for the others?
Johnny Knoxville really needs to go back to Jackass. His ability as an actor is quite lacking, and every line he delivered in this movie was labored and unconvincing.
I thought it was pretty good, but not the caliber of the first one. It seemed too predictable, leaving something on the table. It was still pretty funny - but not necessary a thriller or something that would leave you hanging. It had it's moments...but it started off kinda slow and then was a little too fast through the rest of the movie; probably a byproduct of spanning the time gap between two movies and then trying to keep the movie short - it seemed like the previews took longer than the movie! I'd recommend it, but it's nothing special.
