Trade Dorsey for Patty Mills. Blazers have 4 PGs signed. Blazers drafted Pendergraph (31st) to add toughness at the 4 but he's had recent hip surgery. Aldridge is soft and they've got Outlaw and Juwan behind him. Those two backups have reps for playing with no defense. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...8vLYF?slug=ap-blazers-moves&prov=ap&type=lgns
Maybe get rid of both. Romel Beck looked real smooth out there. I dunno if he can 'd' up, but man, he really reminded me of Kevin Martin. That's a guy we might look back on as a regret if we let him go.
Would you do this trade? Bayless and Pryzbilla for Chuckwagon and Battier I would we get some upside in Bayless and a suitable replacement for Yao even when he ruturns with some size 7'1 Pryzbilla.
If we keep only one of the two, right now I'd go with Dorsey (accidentally voted Pops) because of a few reasons: 1) Dorsey won't get too much playing time next season behind Scola, Hayes, Landry, Andersen, and perhaps even Cook. 2) He has more potential than Pops, though not much. He does have a tendancy to give up unnecessary fouls, and will need maybe one more year to change that. Don't forget Scola had this problem in his first year, and Oden still had that problem last season. 3) After seeing Dorsey play this preseason, I'm not too hyped up about his future, but he may prove to be a valuable asset if he develops into a better overall player.
We will not be winning a Championship this season so I will go with Dorsey. Why not use him while we have to. If it fails bye-bye when we get Yao back, if he 'gets it', we have a good back-up. We lose more games then we win and we get a good young player to add for a Championship run next year.
Can Yao be on the opening day roster and out for the season at the same time ? We got a salary exception for him already so does that allows us to keep him on the roster also ? There was talk that he may come back on the team late in the season but do we need to devote a roster spot to him until then ?
I would be fine with cutting Dorsey to keep Conroy. I think that's the only decision--Pops should stay regardless. I don't think Dorsey will be able to get into the rotation this year. He seems like a rebounding specialist without the great defense. He does have the guaranteed contract, though, so it wouldn't hurt me much to see Conroy cut.
Is there really a choice? I want nothing to do with either one. It's like polling, who would you rather sleep with : Rosie O'Donnell or Whoopi Goldberg?
Of course Pops. Hes the only dude on the team that can block shots. He's faster than Dorsey too, so he can do well on the run and gun offense system.
Pops has great timing on the weak side help defense. And he really moves his feet quickly to get to the spot. He is very disruptive on the defensive end and will be very useful against the taller, more skilled front lines such as the Lakers and Spurs.
If you had a gun to your head I bet you would choose Whoopi. No one in their right mind would ever choose Rosie. Ever.
Sometimes you just have to accept your mistakes, pay for them, and move on. I've rooted for Joey enough. Now I've concluded he should consider the NFL. DM, please trade him to Memphis for a dollar, or just cut him outright. Les needs to take a little haircut here, pay a disposal fee for Barry and Joey. But we're quibbling over peanuts. The elephant in the room: how to handle T-Mac.
Pops can jump higher, is more aggressive, faster and is even taller than Dorsey. How does Dorsey have a higher ceiling?
