I would go: 1. Scola 2. AB 3. Battier 4. Budinger 5. Landry T-Mac could be a great steal if he comes back really well in early December. how would you guys rank the Rockets players for fantasy basketball?
tmac is going to go REAL low, and has the possibility of yielding the highest fantasy stats other than that, i would pick scola - rebounds/points/fg%
wouldnt battier be a negative he is a non stat player fantasy player being stats? high field goal percentage and such? scola brooks bet on anderson and bud
Scola - he's going to rack up double digit boards and points on numerous occasions this season. Brooks would be 2nd.
Scola, Brooks and Battier. Battier only because he gets 1 steal, 1 block, 1.5 threes. He is good for yahoo HTH.
i picked tracy in the last round of my fantasy league. who yall consider that a steal? i mean come november he could be putting up 15 a game with some assists and rebounds.
I would stay on my feet with all Rockets players. Minutes and touches are very much in flux this year. Scola would be interesting if he picks up a few more points and 3+ assists per game if he maintains his FG and FT%. Battier and Ariza can be good if they average, say, 13+ ppg since they put up decent amounts of 3s, grest steals for Ariza and good stls and blks for Battier. Neither hurts you in TOs, also. Brooks and Lowry can each put up some offensive numbers given the touches. Wouldn't take anyone too early, but would take chances on some guys in late rounds and keep open mind for FA pickups.
Scola is the only sure thing, he's gonna be a top 50 fantasy basketball player this season. He was already ranked 62 on Yahoo! last year, and that was playing alongside Yao. He might not be LBJ or CP3 fantasy stats wise, but he's a very solid pick to fill out the rest of your roster.
Niether one of them would make it in a fantasy league. Unless there were more than 12 teams. When you get to the end of the draft, people usually pick specialists in the niche categories that make a big difference, 3pters, steals, or blocks.
AB is outright the best option. If he gets the minutes he's going to give you threes, assist, high free throw percentage all hard to get stats in fantasy b-ball. On top that hes' going to give you points. I'm not really sure on the steals or turnovers. He can get you stats in a lot of categories and this could be his breakout year. He's the starter now. So out of all these guys he's the best option. Scola in a distant second. Not that Scola's not a baller, but fantasy wise he's not really dangerous.
Pretty much said what I was going to say. Brooks is very underrated as a fantasy option. The three most important things you need from your point guards are points, assists and threes. Now he's a little deficient in the assists department, but he will easily make up for that in scoring production, 3 pointers made and 3 point percentage. And every minute I have seen him so far this preseason, he has just looked like a star to me ... he looks like he is about to take that leap. Knock on wood, yada yada ... we'll see, but I just get that feeling that he is going to be a very impressive offensive player this year. He just looks like he really can score whenever he wants. Scola is a decent option -- he'll get you those points and rebounds ... he's not a highly valuable player, but he'll give you valuable, consistent production. Battier is very underrated as a fantasy player. He gives you everything you want at the small forward position. Don't let the 10ppg fool you -- he just fills up the stats sheet. Some rebounds here, a block or two there, a steal here, 2-3 threes every night, a reliable 3 point percentage, no turnovers. It's like he just upgrades your entire roster, just like he does in real life. I'd rank him #2 below Brooks.
Brooks,Scolandry,Ariza. Battier does get stats in different categories, but his scoring average was 7.3 last season not 10.
