how about a trade for Wizards Andray Blatche?

He is young (23 years old),has decent size (6'11) and above-average passing (for a big man) and shot-blocking ability, rebounds well, and he can score from inside as well as outside (mid-range). The only thing is that he needs to bulk up (~220 pounds).

    He averaged 10 ppg 5.3 rpg 1.7 apg 1 bpg 47.1% FG% 70.4 FT% and 24 mpg and is on a $2.9 million per year contract.

He is kind of the under-the-radar guy that might not cost too much and could be a decent pick up.

Forgot to add... he is basically a taller version of Carl Landry (with block shots) stat-wise...

The whole idea is to get younger and better not older.

Blatche is intriguing but why do the Wizards want to part w/him, and who would the want from the Rockets?

I still say a trade w/the Bulls makes the most sense:

    Houston gets:
    Deng
    Hinrich
    Noah

    Chicago gets:
    McGrady
    Landry
    Barry/Dorsey/overseas player/pick

Bulls are dying to be a big player in the 2010 FA market. Bulls have also coveted McGrady in the past. Deng is on the hot seat and like Tracy, coming off injury. Landry provides some needed offensive consistency at PF while Dorsey is a good complement to Miller. Noah may appear untouchable now, but it was not long ago that fans/coaches were doubting his work ethic, offensive limitations, consistency, comments, etc. Hinrich has been on the trade block for a while now.

Noah would give Rockets a 4/5 w/energy, length, rebounding, D, and ability to pass out of the high post. Hinrich would be perfect alongside Brooks. And Deng is either trade bait or allows Houston the flexibility to shop either Ariza or Battier for another scorer. And all 3 would complement Yao when he returns.

No need to rebuild while they are getting older, you have to keep building onto what you have.

The ultimate problem is nobody going to caugh up a solid young player for McGrady without giving up more young players. Why not continue to keep adding solid veterans to the core who would be hungry for a ring instead of setteling for a sub-par team.

He's ok, I found it funny that half of those highlights came against some euroteam in an exhibition (i'm just sayin). He showed some good footwork in some of those post moves tho. I dont think I saw a travel once.

Morey has already tried Battier and Brooks for Rubio Minny rejected the offer.

I'm starting to wonder he will eventually up his offers for Rubio and Butler i think those were low end offers.

I'm thinking it will take more then Brooks and Battier to land Rubio in which he could be severly over rating.

Yeah, they "coveted" him before they had Derrick Rose.

Can't think of a worse way to help along Rose's development as a floor general and a team leader than to bring in a guy who's going to refuse to play second fiddle on the perimeter and constantly demand the ball.

Actually the Chicago media and fans STILL covet McGrady, or his expiring salary anyway. Look up any of their trades or fan sites in the last 5 weeks and you will see plenty of trade speculation for McGrady.

Isn't Rubio under contract to a European team? So even if we had his rights he wouldn't be playing for us immediately...but it wouldn't be too bad to have him next season or whenever Yao comes back and we add another star player...

    Rip Hamilton might be available

Signed through 2012-2013, for about 12 million a season. Will be 34 when his contract expires. Fits the system fairly well, but is on the backend of his career. Wouldn't be a huge fan of trading anything of value, but if they only want picks and expirings I would do it. Better than the Steven Jackson proposals anyway.

I dont see much that we can do with just expirings unless you meant Tmacs expiring.

You'd have to include Battier. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yh9p3v2
