    Are you the next DD?
Even he decided to root for Tracy as long as he is a Rocket.

His percentage is not the best but not as bad as you displayed. During his better days the numbers were relatively decent. I remember him getting near triple doubles in the recent past. So far so good with your comment that he does not box out, he's a good rebounder.
Please judge him when he comes back. To be fair.

You asked it like it was a rhetorical question. Maybe that's why nobody answered you

Not really. I want to know how somebody who plays through injuries but avoids contact in every second they are on the floor, Tough.

Nothing Rhetorical about it, because it shows you he isn't tough.

He lost his quick step with the injury, disallowing him to get around his defender and drive to the basket..

Like what ^RMG said, he was limited in his offensive game, which is why he decided to go through with the surgery in hopes of returning to his old self.

And don't quote me saying he's never going to get back to his old self. That's just speculation. We'll have to wait and see.

    Big Z?
    Bosh?
    I beg to differ
They're soft but they can't touch Yao

We all love Yao but his softness is what I can't stand.
Has anyone watched nba b*tches on youtube, which features only two players:
    1. Shawn Bradley
    2. Yao Ming (there's even a part 2 for Yao... sad  )

    It basically sums it up

No Z.. No Bosh.. No Tmac Vince Carter Rik Smits Jose Calderon Eddy Curry etc
    They not soft enough

Then you have the top 10 blocks on a certain player mix..
Again, No Bosh or Z and the rest
Hell they don't even have Bradley this time.. Who's the only one that made the list... hm, you get the point

its so damn frustrating to watch these clips.
Don't you just want to shout at Yao everytime he tries to lay the ball in gentlely..

Yao is not soft. You can't be soft and play for JVG.

I wonder what Dwight Howard would have to say about this. How does Yao DOMINATE Dwight every single game, if he is so soft?

    Yao plays soft
Any Rocket fans can see that. Can you not?
Actually, You're entitled to your own opinion I guess
anyways, he does outplay Dwight.. we'll at times miss that inside presence this year for sure
btw, don't CAP a word to stress your point, its kind of childish

Childish is not ending your sentence with periods, or using capitalization.

Or saying that Yao is soft because of videos that some idiots posted on youtube.

    THAT is childish.

What do you think Jeff would say to you if you told him that Yao was soft?

Lol... It's not childish... that's how people express tone over the internet...
    There's no other way.
You can't hear his voice or see his facial expressions, so users are left with the option to capitalize words (which is also seen in books HMMMMMM), use smileys, etc etc.

This thread is flawed. People are defining soft in so many different ways...

It's funny that he posts that in a thread entitled "Who is the SOFTEST Rocket?".

You don't need to call them idiots for putting up those videos just because Yao is your hero..

and to answer your question, I am pretty sure JVG would agree with me
infact, he'll probably point that out as Yao's biggest weakness
Lets be honest.. we've all watched enough games to know how Yao plays

So your definition of soft is basically... aggressiveness?
Because Yao doesn't throw down like DHoward, he's soft?
If this is your interpretation of soft, then yes... Yao is soft.

But I'm sure the thread creator(is that what an OP is?) was thinking more along the lines of... character, reaction to contact, injury-proneness, work ethic, etc etc.

Or maybe he meant: Who is the Softest Rocket in regard to texture...
In this case... Brian Cook :D

I think most everyone that knows basketball would disagree with your statement of Yao being soft.

Maybe in his rookie year, but most rookies are soft to an extent. When he was averaging 20-25 a game, he was a physical beast, and still is.

I can't think of one soft player that averaged 20-10-2. It is impossible. You can't be soft and average 10 rebounds.

In fact, name one soft player that averaged over 10 rebounds a game.

    Character wise, Tmac
    he's actually more lazy

Brian Cook lol lets give him some props that he's an amazing shooter at times
I wonder if he'll get a chance this year

The TMac of 08-09 was 'soft' in regards to character, yes.
But before and hopefully after, I believe that Tracy is far from it.

There's not a spot on this team for Brian Cook...
People talk about how he's an amazing shooter, yet in all of the games I've seen him play(with the Rockets), I haven't been impressed.
    ****, I'd take Alston's shot over his.

Brian Cook and his hefty contract of 3.5 million, which blows my mind, needs to go elsewhere... Sorry.
That money will come in handy, when Scola asks for a raise this offseason ;)

    20-10-2?
    Impossible?
hmm Chris Bosh?.. Dirk in the years past?
Do you need the direct nba.com link to their stats?
nevermind, you probably not intersted in them anyways
You probably only watch Rocket games.. and only those that Yao plays in.
    Alright, we see things differently
lets just hope the Yao recovers smoothly and will be atleast 80% as effective as pre-injury
