IIRC, The KG/Calderon incident started because Calderon had the audacity to contest one of KG's jump shots... KG nailed the shot and proceeded to mockingly applaud Calderon's effort... about 2 inches from Calderon's face.
i don't understand how so many people confuse arrogance with passion. talking trash and belittling other players is not passion. it's arrogance. i really don't like kg or anything player that acts like a 5 year old.
Lol well I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Bill Russell hasn't seen the stuff he did here in Mauldin, SC where he is from.
Let's quote Kevin Durant's numbers. Let's quote Danny Granger's numbers. Let's quote Rudy Gay's numbers. Notice how his "efficiency" has been down since he joined the Celtics? Yes, exactly. Anyone can put up great numbers on a bad team.
I think Scola shows a lot of passion night in and night out, but he doesn't whine, complain, talk trash, or harass small players like a little b****. Hmmm... using Knote's logic, Scola is probably one of the least passionate people playing in the NBA.
Using my logic? Quit putting words in my mouth. Give me a link to where I said that you HAD to talk trash to be passionate. Reading comprehension is good, guy. Durant, Granger, and Gay are not ANYWHERE CLOSE to the level of production that KG put forth. Not even comparable... Not to mention the T'wolves made the playoffs quite a few times in a tough west. And by the way, that is an outright lie. His efficiency has not gone down in the slightest. He gets less shots, and less touches in general because he is on a great team, but his efficiency is as high as ever. Mind games, rookie initiation.
Trash talking aside KG is passionate on the court like it or not. He gives it all he has game in and game out while on the floor. KG was like this even when Minnesota sucked he just gets more National T.V. spotlight since Boston is winning.
Care to elaborate? How does crawling on all fours mess with someones mind? and LOL at 'rookie initiation' how can you even consider that a valid argument? Why doesn't he do it too all the rookies he's faced? Your man-crush is blinding you.
A)Plenty of people have said he cursed out a kid who asked for his autograph at a restaurant while he was eating. (Like I said rumor, but plenty of folks have said it) B)My Uncle coached him for AAU basketball(KG,Ray Allen, and Shammond Williams on the same team), well he still coached a few years ago and asked KG for a donation and KG cursed him out and told him to never call his phone again. Now I met KG a few times and he was nice to me but that was at his basketball camp which I paid money for and a tournament he hosted here. He hasn't done anything major but I don't know if he's all that classy.
Someone crawling on all fours in a basketball game would certainly mess with my mind. That is some weird sheit. He does it to a lot of younger players. Like all vets, I think he is trying to find some type of advantage because he does not have the same type of physical ability that he used to have. KG is certainly over the top, and an ass on the court, I am not debating that. I happen to be more annoyed by a guy like Kobe, than a guy like Garnett. Either way, Larry, Michael, Jerry West, have legendary "*******" stories and rumors all over the place. In some ways, it is a neccesary component to being great. Arrogance that is...
Interesting stuff. From the interviews, videos, donations and NBA cares type of stuff, I have a very different interpretation of KG. He helps a lot of people off the court. Nonetheless, that is good to know and very interesting.
i remember that incident with Caledron. I just don't know how a ref can let him go down the whole length of the floor with him pointing and taunting and not giving him a technical foul. Dikembe wasn't even allowed to wag his finger but Garnett can do this all the way down the floor? Give me a break.
He built a basketball court in Mauldin, a few miles from where he went to high school at. He doesn't do the tournament or camp thing here anymore though. I don't know why everyone looked forward to it but he hasn't done anything here in a few years now. I still don't think he's a bad guy and I definitely don't hate him like most do on this board. I respect his game and glad he made it big time coming from this area since we don't have a lot of celebrities from here.

This is beyond laughable. You're trying to make sense of Garnett acting like an idiot crawling on all fours as a way to "find some type of advantage because he does not have the same type of physical ability he used to have?" Please. While MJ and Bryant are learning skills (i.e. post up moves and the fadeaway) to prolong their careers while their physical abilities are diminishing, Garnett's plan is to try to get into the younger players' heads by getting on all fours? Arrogance might be a necessary component but borderline idiocy is not and that is what Garnett has shown the past few years. I am willing to be that if it was anyone besides Garnett that were on all fours, they would have gotten T'd up.
This video came out years ago and I STILL remember this clip with KG <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uu0-ZS6gWxY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uu0-ZS6gWxY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Fast forward to the 3:00 mark. The scuffle was between Robinson and Joe Smith and Garnett decides to go over and bark at Robinson like the young buck that he is. And when he probably realizes that Mr. Robinson could have probably laid him out, he tries to get into it with Duncan. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FASClJTnJ4I&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FASClJTnJ4I&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> In other words, it's not that Garnett won't pick on players his size--he just goes after the ones that he thinks is soft.
Did you even watch the Celtics games last year, or did you just watch highlights of Pierce and Lebron going at it? For all his crazyness KG IS the heart and soul of that team. Do you even know what made that Celts team so formidable? It was DEFENSE, with capital D-E-F-E-N-S-E, and KG was a huge part of that. He was everywhere on the court, and his freakish athletecism coupled with his defensive genius enabled him to basically guard his man while doubling up on other people as well. And he did it every single freakin' play. Saying Pierce rode KG to the finals is not glorifying, its a fact. Guys like Kobe, Pierce, Wade etc. do need a big guy to ride on, only Jordan was the only wing player in history who achieved success without a dominant big guy (and he had Pippen, Rodman and a serviceable center with him at the time). Pierce being finals MVP is all about hitting the clutch shots and making a big hoopla, but the fact is KG has had a bigger impact in their run.
