Take a look at this never before seen footage.
Seriously, if kobe can add more moves to his offensive arsenal, he is going to be a nightmere for other teams. Currently I feel that he is still the most unstoppable player in the league (u can argue about lebron, melo, wade...this is just my opinion). I just don't feel he have a weakness to his offensive game. If he adds more fakes and spins to his mid post game, damn...that is scary.
Kobe is already a superb post up player for his position. I'm not really sure how much those fake-and-skin moves would really add to his game. It would be fun to see him use them, though. He's 31 now, right? Hakeem was just entering his championship-era prime at that age.
Dream's moves will never be done the same way. I am just glad to see a Super Star like Kobe finds that learning from the Hakeem is a great honor. Dream moves were great to see live.
I've seen Kobe already do Dreamshakes or variations of it in the past, so it's evident that he's been following Hakeem's post moves for awhile, and not just looking at his Jordan tape library. When Andrew Bynum was still struggling with his role, Kobe told him to watch a lot of Hakeem tapes.
I think Kobe is working is back to the basket moves cause he and everybody else saw that he lost a step or two last year. Just like Jordan did late in his career.
I still don't quite understand how they put anybody above Kobe Bryant... He's still the greatest player in today's game. Unlike Lebron, Kobe has a very reliable jump shot. Until Lebron develops an efficient shot, Kobe will remain the best until he retires.
He needs to start adding things as he grows older. Seems like he has done so each year. MJ did it. Kobe is doing it. Fun to watch the evolution.
Kobe is the best offensive player i have ever seen. Period. Best player in the league right now... may be arguable. Always nice to see Hakeem. I hope one of these days he trains with Tracy McGrady or any of the current rockets player. P.S. What Kobe really needs to learn from Hakeem is how to be humble.
I have always been a Kobe fan since I met the guy here in houston at the all star game(he was the coolest one of all at the time), yea being a rockets guy, you love to see him showing respect to our great center. Gotta respect his thirst for the game, it seems now the new age players are so obsessed with the marketing machine they maybe more athletic, but the skillset is fading out and those gym rats like kobe are fading
1. Tracy would never train with Hakeem 2. We already have someone that did http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2007/05/the_dreams_dream_yao_ming_stud.html
Kobe's session with The Dream already paying off.. http://www.nba.com/video/games/lakers/2009/10/22/0010900104_den_lal_play2.nba/index.html
as sad as it sounds, believe it or not, Lebron has NO post moves. You never see the guy posting up, it baffles me because of the way he's built.
I saw that last night during the game...I was like no way that's Dreams move!!! I have mixed feelings about his new moves. -he pulls them off so smooth -it's nice to see Dreams moves out on the court -but its Kobe, I wish it was a Rockets player -he's probably going to unleash all his new moves on us.
Kobe has been arguably the best player over the last decade and definitely the most skilled and fundamentally sound yet he just learned how to do an "up and under" this past off-season? I suspect if someone wanted to look through game tape they could find Kobe dropping this move hundreds of times over his career.
Ziggy and T-Slack hit the nail on its head. I think he realized he's still got the quickness but not the speed to blow past his defender night in and night out. By adding post moves he can continue to be extraordinary for a longer time. Also: That guy didn't look like Kobe to me... He has a similar jab-step but his build didn't look like Kobe.
