I agree with you on having a presence down low. I see neither Pops nor Dorsey get the job done there. I am not a Joey fan at this point.

yeah I kinda think much the same too.....its lyk we ran ISO. plays every time we came down the court>..........

The Rockets, meanwhile, struggled to get on track offensively. With so many new faces in the lineup, their offense was almost exclusively one-on-one efforts. Houston didn't have an assist in the first quarter and had only three at halftime while shooting 14 of 39 (35.9 percent) from the field.

I think Conroy sticks because he is a multi-skilled PG. Those don't grow on trees, and to have three such skilled PGs is a luxury we can afford now, and a necessity if Aaron or Kyle gets injured, or shot, or whatever. IMHO, PG is the most important position on any basketball team.

All of our back-up bigs have glaring size and/or skill deficiencies. I'd let them go before cutting Conroy.

if AB or Kyle gets injured cant we just pick conroy back up from the d-league.i think we need the rebounds and shot blocking more right now.

Conroy has NBA talent...he is a decent backup PG, we just don't have room for him with Brooks and Lowry and our shortage of bigs.

A friend of mine also told me that it was announced Tmac might be ready to go in 3 weeks....did anyone hear that?

They might be worried about the stance of our offense. It is stagnating again. Perhaps the new Tracy could do something about it.

I hope he goes to Europe, if he can't make it here. He dominates the NBDL, and needs a bigger challenge to develop further.

Both Brooks and Lowry are small. Conroy is small too. If the rockets need a 3rd pg, should be a bigger one.

He does indeeed dominate the D-League I think he is actually somewhat an NBA calibre player...if NBA teams werent so desperate to cut costs and were actually willing to carry 15 players, he'd probably have a good chance to land on a roster as a third PG. I really think he could find a role as a Kevin Ollie journeyman and can get himself probably a 8 or 10 year NBA career...so in that case...its probably best to stay in the Dleague for mid-season callup opportunities.

If the Rockets are chasing shotblockers, then they won't be going to Dorsey and Pops. Both of them will be waived for no shot blocking ability.

The Rockets SF Shane Battier and SG T-Mac block more shots per minute than either Dorsey or Pops.

Garret is PURELY training camp fodder...he had no chances of getting drafted and he was a roleplayer even in college...probably Morey did him a favour or something letting him scrimmage in camp and play preseason games...the dude shot less than 40% in college...

Sure, he's small.........and fast........and quick. And that's what we want. The thing about Conroy is if he develops he could be a very cheap backup and with us relying on Brooks and Lowry playing together, if one of them goes down with injury, we need him. Not to mention, Lowry is in his contract year. He is going to be playing great and he's going to earn a substantial contract. If we could bring Conroy along as an effective replacement, Lowry could have substantial value on the trade market. Or........Brooks could have substantial value on the trade market.....if we are going after a superstar. I would like to see us trade some of our expirings and one of Battier/Ariza for a big man like Camby and keep Conroy. That is if we can't pull off a deal by the trade deadline for a superstar.

I am hoping that Morey gets Conroy and his agent to agree to go to their D-league team with a promise to bring him aboard by the trade deadline and sign him to a minor 2 year contract based on the fact Morey knows he is going to pull the handle on a deal for Barry/Cook/etc. at the trade deadline. I am afraid if we don't wrap him up somehow and if we just let him go, that some team is going to snap him up and he will go on to develop a substantial career as a very good backup point that can flat out score the ball, run the break, and make things happen. Conroy is worth keeping around.
