It's what I don't get. When we played the Spurs, they definitely have players that can beat you one on one, but they were still running people off of screens. Why can't Adelman make this happen??? It makes the game so much easier for the players. I do like the screens they ran for CBud against the Spurs, but why can't Adelman do this consistently?? Very frustrating. I seriously believe Adelman must have had a head injury in that year off before he came to coach for us.

Agree with most of your analysis (and a good one by the way), but let's give Ariza more time to adjust... after all he has never been asked to be a go-to guy or even the 2nd or 3rd option on the teams that he's played.

Again, as many (e.g. DD) have stressed already, Ariza is only on a MLE contract so anything on top of his defence is an icing on the cake (hopefully we will have some delicious icing for our Ariza-cake).

    One thing I don't get...

Why IS Ariza pegged as our go-to guy? When has he ever performed efficiently on offense, to score like...22+ points in one game?

Trevor needs calm down, and let the PGs we have create shots for him.

Well... the explanations I can give are:

    - It's preseason so many adjustments are needed

    - It's the third game (on road too) within 4 consecutive days

    - That mentality hasn't really sunk in-to our players' minds yet

    - At least 1 of our players on the floor is offensively-challenged, which
makes it harder to have good spacing and movements (e.g. no one will
really guard Dorsey when he's at the high post)

Hopefully adjustments can be made as the team gets more games under its belt.

Exactly... Ariza hasn't developed that game yet of creating his own shot and being able to hit jumpers while being contested (if he can ever do that). But, I think he'll be much more effective when Tracy comes back.

That's probably because numerous BSPN-like articles hyping about Ariza getting that new role in Houston and his performance during the 2009 Playoffs.

Ariza is only pegged as the go-to guy by you noobs that think because he was chosen over Ron Artest, he should be the go-to guy. Trevor has never been a go-to guy....ever. He was a 4th or 5th wheel in LA and an average one at that.
Time will tell whether we screwed up by not signing Ron to a short term deal and instead signed Ariza to a long-term deal.

I don't see Brooks becoming what many of us think he's gonna be.

But, it has only been 3 PREseason games...
