Thats a great idea... i would definitely buy it. Maybe you should talk to clutch about it and have the money go to keeping this site up
Using the rockets logo would be a breach of NBA trademark/copyright. You could make one for yourself, but I'm pretty sure if you started selling them you could get in a mess. That said, if there were interest, I wouldn't mind helping with a/the design that didn't cause such trouble with NBA, Rockets, or especially Clutch. Or we could have a contest if there were multiple designers interested. Clutch, chime in if any of this interests/bothers you?
You're the guy I was thinking of when I saw a post of the shirts you designed for the Texans. I know this is a good way to make $$$ especially for the site I'm all for bettering Clutchfans even though I haven't contributed yet, I don't remember my PayPal account, dang it! But I'd wear one just to rep Clutchfans, you know?
You should get Clutch's permission for anything like this. However, I believe the law says if it is a parody, you are free to do what you like. DD
i would buy this and rep it in san antonio... there is actually more rockets fans here than you would expect
I'm sure Clutch would be all for it but I'm sure he hasn't done it based on the tremendous amount of work it takes to do retail online. I would buy one for sure. It would be cool if whoever made it dropped some profit in the tip jar.
good point, but that would suck since only rockets fans would know what it meant...what about having "Houston" on the front? Could we possibly take the font from the championship jersey?
i'm down and clutch members get discounts based on how long they have been members and regular rockets fans pay full price
i think they should just simplify it, take orders in person to make sure they're legit, with half payment due up front or something like that, then have them pick them up in person as well.....at least locally that would work, i think locals should have the first sales, then if succesful, we could start shipping them out. Maybe create a paypal account to make it easier, instead of having to come up with an online retail set up.
I asked Clutch about site T-Shirts three years ago. I came up with a design and already had mockups done on CafePress. He's extremely cautious about such things and it didn't pan out. Here's his response thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=109420
Actually there's plenty of sites where you can setup stores for stuff like that for no cost - they just take a cut of your sales.
Makes sense. I appreciate you bringing thread up, now I see why its so hard to get a project like this rolling. I'll just leave it from here for Clutch or mods to close the thread or do what they may. Thanks droxford. *sigh* I'm dissapointed....
