I'm not sure what the big deal is.

    you can't just bomb it.

The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station.

Finally. All those years of practicing to get under my desk in case of emergency will have meaning.

Better stop off at the Taji station beforehand to pick up some power converters.

The Sci-Guy doesn't seem to think so. Nor does anyone at NASA. And frankly, I'm more inclined to believe them than some Hollywood screenwriter or bbs poster.

As a scientist, I can assure you that there is absolutely no possibility of anything catastrophic occurring.

Well, I'm not necessarily going off into the deep end and speculating that this could potentially cause major harm. All I'm trying to say that even if there is no chance of backlash, should it be justifiable to carry on something like this without at least some form of international approval? More importantly, what sort of precedent does this set for future "experimentation" in space? If we are allowed to do something like this, can we tell other countries not to do what they want in space...
