Saw this last night. I agree with the people that place it better than most, but below Shaun of The Dead. I also agree that the lull in the center was odd. It was almost like there should have been one more "adventure" in there somewhere. With all the Cera talk, I thought this movie was written for a decade younger Harrelson. He was good, brought the star power and I liked the film - just thought some of the stuff he did in it was meant for a younger guy. I tried to avoid spoilers and enjoyed the cameo.
Bringing this thread back to life. Just saw it yesterday and thought it was pretty good. The movie itself was decent, but if they come out with a sequel I think it could be better than the first. I'm looking forward to it. I do have one question. Spoiler When Tallahassee met B Murray he said he was one of 6 people still alive. Who was the sixth?
Spoiler Maybe, but he said he knew of six. By that logic you almost have to count both. You could be right, but part of me wondered if it had to do with a back story in a deleted scene or maybe a seed for the sequel.
Saw it last nite... (my date demanded we see it, i love a girl who has a thing for zombies) It was good, but is anybody else getting tired of Michael Cena-esqe young male leads in movies? I really hate the whole character prototype that guy created. It is getting way overused now. And is it just me, or does Emma Stone get hotter with every movie?
She isn't Megan Fox hot, which is part of the appeal. She was kind of ugly in Superbad, and every movie since then she's been moving more towards a style I dig. She is attainable pretty, which is kind of a draw in its own right.
I saw this movie last weekend. It is definitely hilarious. I'd agree that it really hits you with the laugh out loud humor more in the beginning of the movie than the end. I thought the cameo was actually somewhat of a let-down...ONLY because it has been talked up so much - still very funny in its own right. I haven't seen the main kid actor in anything else, but would agree that he and Michael Cera must have been separated at birth or something - they are the same actor. But there's probably room for more than one of them in the world.
ended up seeing it last weekend. Good fun! Plain and simple. I was pretty excited about it but i tried not to expect too much (since it usually means you won't enjoy the movie as much). Would definitely like to see it again. I agree with some of the comments that there could have been more there, but that's just our greed
Hate to bring this up...I'm really late to this party...but saw this over this past weekend (on Starz) and was floored. I giggled myself through most of the movie and my wife, who had no interest in watching it, had me dvr it so she could watch. Really a fun movie. And like everyone mentioned, the Bill Murray cameo was hilarious and very unexpected. I wish he could've lived though...and continued his faux zombie golf playing...which might've made him available for the sequel. And, the good news (I suppose) is that there will be a Zombieland 2, with the original cast... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombieland_2#Sequel
I swore I was on the Dear Zachary tab of my browser, and started getting outraged up to this point in your post!
