with t-mac deff. out and shane's hamstring AND david andersen's abilities both in question. who do we go into san antonio with?? im thinkin of a lineup like so... brooks JT or Chase ( i really dont know which ) ariza scola or landry andersen or scola or chuck hayes?? should we start chase for his shooting and just accept his poor defense (i heard it straight from morey that hes laterally slow, although he did say that right now chase is more ready to play). or do we start jt and hope he makes the right decisions(morey said he has a higher ceiling than chase, my personal choice). do we start landry/scola or scola/andersen or even scola/hayes... i wanna see what andersen is capable of, but if he's really just not ready i'd go with landry/scola. WHAT'S IT GONNA BE???
Its a preseason game. Just throw him out there and see what he's got. Its not like the Spurs are going to play Tim the entire game.
Brooks, Lowry, Ariza, Scola, Hayes It doesn't really matter who starts, its preseason, the starters play 20 minutes tops anyway.
I doubt scola will play more then 10 minutes if at all. . we'll probaly give Pop, dorsey and etc most of the minutes at PF.
Flip flop Lowry and Brooks. I think Kyle's a better option for taking the ball upcourt in that situation. Of course, Brooks would guard the 1. Unless that 1 is Baron Davis or something.
brooks buldinger ariza scola andersen and being a pre season game, adleman will probaly test a variety of line ups
Don't know if Andersen will start or not,but I expect him to get a fair amount of minutes in the pre-season against them. I would like to see him hit his mid-range jumper. It's better than Scola's and possibly Landry's. Luis and Carl are better overall players than him,and will get a lot of time too.
My Guess... Brooks, Lowry, Ariza, Scola, Hayes. I'd rather see Budinger start at the two though and Andersen at the five, but it's preseason.
other than it gives us a glimpse at what adleman invisions our lineup of looking like when the season starts based off what hes seen in practice. maybe it wont be the ultimate determinant, but its the best answer to "whos our starting 5?" were gonna get till the season starts...
Can we read anything out of yesterday's scrimmage? It looked to me that the teams were equally divided, with a couple of starters on each team. Brooks & Scola started with CBud, Taylor & Pops. On the other team we saw Ariza, Lowry, Hayes, Landry & Temple. Safe to say we will see Brooks, Ariza & Scola as our top 3 starters. Assuming T-Mac makes a complete recovery, he will start at the two guard, but until then we may see Lowry running with Brooks. That leaves one other big, probably Hayes early on, but I don't seeing him as the starter throughout the season. Landry is too valuable & has the scoring we need off the bench. If we are going to play up tempo basketball, maybe Dorsey or Pops would be a better choice. I liked the energy displayed by Pops, he has a little more of an offensive game than Chuck & looked to be very athletic running the floor. David Andersen may take a while to adapt to the speed of the NBA & will slowly earn his minutes. Could start against the teams with convential type post players. I see Taylor possibly taking Wafer's role as a scorer off the bench. CBud has a good all-around game & will get some minutes. He or Taylor could possibly start at the two early on if we decide to bring Lowry off the bench. Battier is kind of a wildcard. IMO, he will start at the three & Ariza will move to the Two guard. Once T-Mac returns, Ariza moves to the three & Battier will be a 6th man off the bench. He will also take a role of a defensive stopper, coming off the bench to guard a hot shooter. Injuries has kept us in a little state of limbo, but I love are versatility. Several players can slide from the two, three or possibly the four position. We could run four 6'8" players at the 2, 3, 4 & 5 positions and they all could be interchangeable on the go. We definitely lack size, is there another trade or do we out run our opponents?
