Josh Howard is more versatile, athletic and a far better defender than Chase. Chase may have a bit more of a shooting touch, but even that is hard to predict.
I might be wrong but I expect Taylor to become a decent to good mid-range shooter/slasher,and Chase to become a decent to good 3 point shooter, who can occasionally drive, finish, and pass. Neither of them are good defenders, but it all depends on how much they want to work on that end.
with good athleticism and good bb iq, shouldn't it be easier 2 learn good defense? I really think chase can make it good...
I think it's possible for Chase and Taylor as well to become adequate defenders, but the fact remains they haven't done so despite their college experience. It will require a change in attitude and time.
So - just curious, what is it that makes you think Chase would be a better 3pt shooter than Jermaine? At college, Taylor was probably the better shooter (hitting 3 per game in his last season!)
College shooters and pro shooters are diffeeent. If u can't create space to get a shot off, it doesn't matter. Steve Alford, JJ Reddick, and the kid the rox drafted from Vandy are examples of guys who can shoot. In college, u get open uncontested shots from 20 ft vs in pros that's just a long jumper. What taylor and chase did in college as shooters means zero, this is big time and u can't be a reallly good player if you can't take contested shots or creat space to get one off.
Thats somewhat true but I know in JT's case he was like the T-Mac in Orlando of what JT was in Central Florida.....He completely carried his team's offense and the whole team ran through JT...so although he was in Conference USA and not NBA ( DD?) opposing defenses were concentrated on him and he had to create all the team's offense himself...so I don't see JT having any trouble here... Chase on the other hand I think was on much more talented teams and so he probably got easier coverage and easier shots...
At this point, any help will do. Chase can help the 2nd unit on offense. Something that Wafer use to do. He together with Landry and Lowry would comprise ( as of now ) the scoring punch when the starters rest.
Jazz? Cool. But I also think he has some funk in his game. So, if Chase was music... you're posts are... very good, but very subjective. how much have you seen him play? how do you know he has "IT" quality? how do you know so much? or rather, how do you think you know so much?
i think Taylor will end up being a better player than chase. chase is getting a lot of hype now. let's see how he plays against legit competition.
I'm ok with "Smooth" for CBud, by why oh why did they have to taint it by adding "Jazz" to that. I think Kill Jazz would have been better. As in, "He just killed the Jazz with that dagger-in-the-heart 3 for the win." I think we can come up with a better nickname for Chase, like Vanilla Wafer or something like that.
Nah. You can't let Utah steal the good name of real Jazz and all that it represents. For the Utah Jazz, the name is merely a reminder of how stupid a franchise they are... there is Jazz in New Orleans, but no Jazz in Utah... they should have changed their name to the Beehives or something.
I agree with this. But then again "smooth jazz" or whatever you want to call today's cookie-cutter radio-friendly Jazz is more elevator music than it is actual Jazz anyway. As far as Budinger, let's let his play and or random happenstance earn him a nickname. I think we on Clutchfans jump the gun too many times with nicknames.
On behalf of all Rockets fans, I implore you to immediately stop this nonsense, DD! You're jinxing the man! Every time you climb on a rookie's bandwagon, the wheels immediately start wobbling! Please, for the love of all things Rockets-related, don't mention Budinger's name again until next year.
Good comparison Mike Miller? This guy is no Novak II atleast he can put the ball on the floor and jump.
