Great, like we really need a tall guy to shoot 3 pointers for us. God, and do we really need to pull double duty in dealing with the Chinese govt and the CBA. This is a ridiculous suggestion, Wang sucks.

Someone suggested this before, but I think adding Bateer would be a good idea. He's supposed to be more of a banger type, which the Rockets could really use.

Man i'm getting tired. We discuss the topic since we had the 1st pick of the Draft.

Plus,i think Cato could/is a decent backup. He's no starter, but could be effective off the bench.

Adding Wang or Bateer to the team would be less about getting another player to help on the court and more about getting someone to help Ming get adjusted to America and the NBA. If Steve can get a bunch of his buddies on the team, why not Ming?

Who are Steve buddies that he got on the team? Williams, a mentor of Steves apparently, was already there before Steve. Norris, was brought in for his skills, not because he was Steve's friend. Cat was there before Steve. Morris is the only guy that Francis might have had a hand in acquiring, and even before that draft, Rudy had been scouting Morris as a potential lottery pick the last couple of years, so I think Rudy was just as instrumental if not more so than Steve.

No more additions or subtractions. This team is good enough as is.

No - because we would really have to overpay for Wang - Dallas will match anything within reason.

Why overpay for a possible adjustment buddy? Do Ming and Wang even like each other?

I live in Dallas, and I've seen Wang play. Wang is as slow as a turtle. His only skill is shooting jumpers a la matt Bullard.
He has a good 3, but he can not rebound well. Bullard at least rebounded, dunked the ball, and had some sweet blocks if I remember. In addition, Wang's name does have a bad conotation right now. I don't think the Rockets would want to deal with the political problems that may come with Wang.

Agreed. Wang is slow as balls. Aside from nailing wide open 3's, he doesn't bring a whole lot to the table. I'd rather use the last roster spot on someone like Lee Benson or Kei Madison. Both are guys that would play for the absolute league minimum.

The Chinese probably wouldn't Wang contaminating Yao with his insubordinate ways. Bateer would be a better choice.
