People here were super pumped about Terrence Morris last year, and we all know what happened, his outside shot, never...umm...developed, and he was generally unimpressive. So w/ the addition of Nachbar, is it to late for Morris or is he salvageable as a legitimate contributor for the Rockets in the future?
Morris showed flashes of good play occasionally last year. He needs to work on his jumper, and needs to learn to be more aggressive.
He relatively has no trade value. Unless we package him as a throw in we could not receive anything back for him. We should give him a year to develop his skills. Who knows? He may get his shot back in summer and preseason, and may be able to fill in 5 minutes or so a game. Anyhow, he presents another athletic player in practice. However, with the logjam of Rice, KT, and nachbar at SF, I do not see him getting any playing time unless he goes off in practice.
Logjam or no logjam, you gotta give him another year. He has no trade value so its not like we are missing out on getting something in return for him this year anyway.
considering we wasted a first round pick on him I think we have to keep him around, at least on the injured list.
You have to give a guy more then one year to develop. I think Morris could still be a player in the league, a quality role player that has a break out year or two.
Get rid of Morris? GOD FORBID! He's from MARYLAND!!! It would be blasphemous to trade a homey. The guy had one good game (vs. Grizz) this year (13/10) going up against some other rookies. Does he have potential? Yeah, probably. Doesn't make too much money, so I say KEEP HIM at least another year or two.
The question still remains. When will he get to play. There are so many ahead of him the only time he will touch a basketball is if he brings the balls out to practice.
He is one of the only players on this team who can spell D-E-F-E-N-S-E. That alone, as far as I'm concerned, should secure him a spot on this team.
I could not agree more..... He adds depth and can spot start when needed. He comes cheap also....whats not to like.
Keep him. For no other reason it should be a reminder to Franchise as to why he should be a PG and not a GM. But honestly give him one more year. IF he doesn't pan out next year then say bye, bye!
You need a bench, and it's more cost effective to develop one through good drafting than through free agency (see the Knicks...if Othella opted out, their LEAST expensive player is Travis Knight, at 4 million!) Morris is the consumate role player. He's a good passer, good defender, can play the 3 or the 4, rebounds, runs. He just lacks confidence in his shot. Even if he doesn't have a Peja-like shot, he's a good guy to have at a cheap price playing a utility forward role.
Keep Morris! If he can get his shot to fall, he will be a very good small forward off the bench. He plays very good team defense, and looks to make the players around him better. Remember how we gave up on Avery Johnson because he could not hit an outside shot? I feel the same way about TMo that I did about Avery.
I say keep him! like all the others say, he is a cheap bench warmer, compared to many out there. Give him another year
