Wasn't he the Rookie of the Year a few years ago? He played for the Wollongong Hawks and then went to Europe (he had Euro heritage so he didn't have to count as an import). I'm from Sydney, and I can assure you that the Optus coverage of the NBA far exceeded that of Fox. My brother has both so I manage to find time to slip him 50 or so video cassettes every season! (Of course, as mentioned by SRJ the new laws may make getting more games a whole lot easier!)
Harumph, I definitely hav no good reason living in Hoppers. I stil living with my parents but as soon as i get chance i gettin outta there. No i'm not part of any Hoppers Crew.....i Just recently moved to Hoppers so i dont really know anybody there... Now Montgo and ROCKETBOOSTER, i definitely will take u up on ur offers. I went on Eastbay, Footlocker and NBA store sites and their shipping charges are !! if anyone could help a brother out, that would be unreal....
Im also from Australia, I have pay TV and all i can get is one crappy game per week NBA coverage sux here.
Im from sydney and i saw ming play at the olympics but i didnt really pay any attention to him (how would i know he'd be playing for the rockets?) I've got a Steve Francis jersey because one of my friends went to the US and brought one back for me, but its waaaaaaaaaaaay too big, but i keep it with my hakeem jersey. NBA coverage is pretty good, around 4 games a week, no rockets games last season tho, at least we should get some this season. Im new here by the way, names Joe, rockets fan since hakeem won his first ring(but i liked them from opening night, not after they won).
CGM: shipping jersey's no problem. I just contributed $100 to clutchcity.net to keep this thing going, so I am going no where. I will even ship a couple and you can pay me once you receive. I am that stupid...I mean trustworthy : ). Seriously though, I am not sure how we would work out the monetary exchange, but maybe I send you a jersey and you send me a boomerang or something or a Carlton football jersery....
Hey montgo, i would be happy 2 send u some carlton jumpers in exchange for some Francis & Griffin tops... ive also got this great little authentic didgeridoo here that i got from the Northern Territory that you might like Actually, im goin to canada in Nov, maybe i could bring some stuff with me and we could exchange cheaper then??
I live in Sydney and while I havent posted in AGES Im always here reading Rockets news. I dont care much for basketball unless one of the teams playing has an angry little Rocket on their jersey. Aside from the Rockets I find it very boring. The financual situation of the Sydney Kings says alot about Australian basketball. Aside from the fact the top athlete in Australia plays AFL or Rugby League (and therefore are not to common in the NBL), the fact that a minority sport pays stupid amounts of money to players that 99% of the population have never heard of is the reason the NBL is in a huge amout of trouble. Can you imagine...the Sydney Kings going bust. As someone said earlier that like the Lakers hitting hard times. As a sports nut I know Shane Heal from the Kings and thats about it. The rest of them...wouldnt have a clue. Unless the NBA decides to give some serious help to the NBL it will end up being a shed league as someone aslo said on this threat (Am I riding coat tails like Scottie Pipen or is it just the fact I agree with most comments already!). The NBL is like Australian soccer except with less of a following and less media coverage. If I was a sponsor I'd rather pour my money into League or AFL and get some type of return. Oh yeah...I cant get a Rockets jersey either. Ontop of that a signed Hakeem Olajuwon ball I want is the same price today as it was in 1995 and I can not afford $1,000 for a ball. I havent seen a Rockets game in over a year. End of rant Christopher
Hey guys, I'm from Craigieburn, Melbourne. Foxtel sucks, but I order alot of the games off www.pontel.com which is really cool. Any of you play ball? My friend's and I are playing some ball this Wednesday at the Aquantic Centre, if you would like to join in, you're welcome. I feel everyone's pain with the Houston jerseys, maybe Ming will attract someone's attention finally!
By the way, I have alot of friends in Hoppers Crossing and Werribee. You wouldn't happen to know of anyone that goes to Mackillop or heard of the breaking crew their called "broken crayons". They are mostly phillipino's and asians. Anyway, it's very late. Glad to know I ain't da only Rocket fan in Australia
montgo if you are willing to send the rockets jersey i will definetly buy it.if you want to email me cgm_mullins@hotmail.com.
robby/cgm: Robby: good point on the canada trip. sounds like a plan. are you going long enough to receive a fed ex type deal? shoot me your email to discuss off the site CGM: will email you FYI to both: the Rockets are changing colors, uniforms and logs beginning in 2003 season. no word on logo and color scheme yet, but they are moving into the new crib with new unis, so you may want to hook up with me then. I am certain they will have a uniform unveiling party next summer.
Fredro Starr yeh i know quite a few of the Mackillop guys.. i friends with some of their friends, so i pretty much know them by face mainly but still know them. i missed ur post bout playin ball this wed, keep me posted any time u guys go play and i'll definitely go. i work in richmond so not 2 far from aquatic centre.
