And who doesn't like someone that loves the 'WILDCAT' as much as Gruden?!!! :p

Also do you think he likes his women the same way he likes his formations? ;)

To be fair, Cowher would give the Texans immediate credibility.

I'm tired of the Texans overpaying stiffs like Ahman Green & Antonio Smith. He would make it a lot more easier to sign free agents.

Shanahan... If Dallas doesn't get to him first. We're already running his scheme, but I think he could get us over the hump.

Kubiak should have hired a better defensive coordinator with some idea on evaluating defensive personnel.

He clearly knows what he is doing on the offensive side of the ball. He found the right QB, he finds diamonds in the rough like Kevin Walter, Andre Davis, and Jacoby Jones. He drafted a nice TE and RB in Daniels and Slaton.

But on defense, does anyone on the Texans have a clue? Did they in trainig camp that these guys just don't cut it? Why did they have these scrubs rated so highly?

No, that would end us up looking like the Broncos of today, he has no control over the players and his defenses gradually got worse.

Dallas woud not get to him first, they have Jason Garrett to step in when they can Wade Phillips this year. :D

I agree with that. I just don't think Kubiak knows how to manage a game well at all.

LOLOL...true on the wildcat thing plus we have Casey who would be perfect

Gruden would make it our primary offense....triple option here we come!

Cowher's personal coaching philosophy is far different from the Denver system that Kubiak has installed here. For a look at what I mean compare the current Texans' offensive roster with that of the Steelers and the difference in the type of OL jumps out. Also don't forget that Cowher is an advocate of the 3-4 defense which, as Ric pointed out a week ago, would negate the best defensive player on the current roster plus it would mean yet another switch on the defensive back to the 3-4.

We're 1-2. Calm down. Plenty of football left to play. We have one of the most potent offenses in the AFC. Are you forgetting that we began the season 0-4 last year. We eventually put together an impressive string of wins - 6 W's in 8 games.

First, we need to do something about the disastrous play of the safetys. They're the reason we've developed a reputation of giving up "the big play." They don't fill holes, misplay deep balls, and blow assignments all over the field.

Wilson and Barber are not the answer, and Busing sure as hell isn't an NFL caliber defensive back based on his recent play.

    I think he would.

Dungy DID say he expected the Texans to win the AFC South. So in his eyes, he probably thinks this team is underachieving right now.

BUT...Kubiak is a good coach, the problem is the defense and unfortunately he doesn't have much to do with that in reality but he's the Head Coach so when the team gives up that many points and yards it's going to be on him.

This Offense is JUST FINE. Anyone that says otherwise isn't watching the same games I am. They are scoring on nearly every drive down the field.

The team needs a proven DC...that would help a ton.

OK, it's the 2010 offseason and Holmgren has his choice of coaching the Houston Texans or the Dallas Cowboys. Guess which team he's going to pick? (Hint: NOT HOUSTON)

Shanahan wouldn't come here because 1) he would be replacing a friend, 2) a friend who hired his inexperienced son to be OC, and 3) he would be doing to Kubiag what Josh McDaniel did to him in Denver.

Word on the street up here is that once Wade aka Mr. Fixit aka Dead Coach Walking gets the boot, JerryJ will be turning to Mike Holmgren. After all, he's got a new stadium to fill.

Cowboys are not much better than the Texans if at all.

No one knows what Holmgren is thinking, or Dungy, or Cowher. They may all think the Texans have more talent then the Cowboys and see a better opportunity to win there.
