It's time for Yao to lose 15 lbs. All the 280+ PF/Cs are losing weight to ease the stress on their knees and feet. Shaq is even shrinking.

True. I've been saying it since he went out. 20-30 lbs would be the best weight loss going into 2010, then let him eat his way back up 10 lbs during the season.

Since Shaq moved to the east, Yao is the heaviest player in the western conference.

There doesn't seem to be a need for him to carry this weight like in the past. Most of the PF/C on Western playoff teams weigh under 280 lbs.

Duncan weighs 240 only. Yao out weighs the premier F/C Duncan by 70 lbs!

In terms of weight, the next closest player is Jazz's Fesenko, a scrub that rarely plays. After Fesenko, Yao has 25-30 lbs of extra weight to battle Oden, Bynum, Diop, and Perkins. None of these guys should give him trouble except Perkins. Perkins and Timberwolves aren't even serious playoff contenders.

Players that are 300+ in the Western conference
    Fesenko(not a starter) 300

Players that are 280+ in the Western conference
    Greg Oden 285
    Andrew Bynum 285
    Desagna Diop 280
    Kendrick Perkins 280

He will start hurting again once the season starts. Losing weight will help him, but knees don't age well, especially for big guys.

Losing wight will help his knee, but it won't help him against those post players.

One of the classiest guys to ever grace the hardwood. He is dedicated to his craft, and wants to win more than anything else. No stat padding here, he couldn't care less if he averages 16 ppg in a regular season as long as he is fresh and averaging 30ppg for the playoffs. Once the season is over, he disappears into the background, no hype or marketing ploys, and no media in sight. He likes it that way, too. A superstar player who shrinks away from the attention and doesn't want to be treated like a superstar, or even a second tier all-star. He is so casual, no PR or a 'coached' personality or fake smiles for the camera. Still the same simple island boy he's always been, except now he is a millionaire and 4-time NBA champion, but you wouldn't know it by the way he carries himself.

The Spurs are lucky to have him...

Just a random article i came across: http://www.startribune.com/sports/wolves/62471937.html?elr=KArks:DCiUMEaPc:UiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUU

"I led one last year at 293 pounds," he said. "I know I can lead one now."

I had no idea Al Jefferson weighed that much! He's apparently 31 pounds lighter now so he's probably back around his listed weight now...

lol she looks YOUNG man.... :D

TD looks fit, really hope the spurs win it in the west this year. I really like the spurs, yeah they could be boring, but i really feel that are a classy team (except bowen) that plays team basketball which i really enjoy watching.

Richard Jefferson and Tim Duncan are the whitest players in the league. They should have a reality show where they try to play on a team with Iverson, Kenyon Martin, and delonte west.
