How good is Lance? Wow!! 3-run homer pulls out a win for the Stros. This team is starting to come together. Jimy is getting comfortable with the pitching staff (especially the bullpen)

Hopefully they can keep this pace for the second half of the season and overtake the Cards.

    Go Stros!!!!

I turned it after it was 4-0...my wife rented Carrie, so we turned out all the lights and watched it with the kids. Scared the hell out of them. When it was over, I stopped the tape in time to see Billy Wagner get the last out.

Like I've always said, I'd rather miss a great comeback than sit thru a big loss.

BTW, a cool and funny thing to do to your kids: in the last scene of Carrie, when the hand comes out of the ground and grabs the girl, I reached over and grabbed my son's arm at the same time. He screamed like a girl. It was hilarious!!!

Behad -- i think i have to wait until my son is older than 2 to play that joke...but i can't wait!!! sounds like something my dad would have done to me....one night i came in late from a date in high school....i got to the bottom of the steps and it was totally dark. i flicked on the light up the stairs and my dad was standing at the top of the stairs with some scary mask on belting out a blood-curdling scream!!! i screamed like a girl...and then we both laughed so hard we cried. the joys of fatherhood!

I'm encouraged by the Astros of late. They say you shouldn't get too high with the highs in a baseball season...but I always do. It's more fun that way, even if you do ultimately get disappointed...as I always do with the 'stros! Oh, well....hopefully they're building on something.

Berkman is putting up some great numbers and Hidalgo is finally stepping up. Anyone else think Berkman could get the MVP?

His avg is only .283 but he has 25 homers and 68 rbi's.

Player - HR - RBI - AVG with rankings in ()

    Berkman - 25(2) - 68(1) - .283(33)

    Bonds - 25(2) - 50(18) - .348(1)

    Sosa - 27(1) - 53(12) - .313(14)

    S. Green - 25(2) - 63(2) - .281(36)

    Todd Helton - 16(12) - 60(3) - .343(2)

If Berman raises his AVG then he will have a good chance. Bonds has to be the front-runner now, but Green is really powering the Dodgers. Helton could be a sleeper, his numbers are good, but the team isn't.
