As title states, trying to figure out which of you guys are actually more excited about this season than last season. I think this season brings a lot of new faces and uncertainty. I'm sure many of us didn't mind the "boring" basketball we played in the past, but I for one am certainly looking forward to the style of basketball we will be playing this season. Especially with David Anderson aquisition. That said, I would probably say I am equally excited about this coming season as I was with last season with the announcement of Ron Artest.
Well..obviously least year..i taught we wuz headin to the title For sure it was time..but..this year gonna be crazy how we gonna creep up on teams
last season for me. i mean we had a healthy yao, tmac, and artest going into the season!! if everything worked out (which it didnt), i really thought we could've won the the whole thing. not sure exactly whats there to be excited about this season, other than seeing what our players will develop into.
Last season we had a supposed big-3. Instead of being overrun with McGrady drama, the board was overrun with questions of if we could matchup with Boston and Los Angeles. It was a good time to be a giddy fan, even if it didn't end so well.
I'm going to be honest and say this year. Last year I was a little too distracted to follow the rockets off season as closely as i wanted too.
You'd be crazy to think we won't win 30, too much grit/competitiveness on our squad. We might fall short of the playoffs... but we will hover around .500
I think like always we will exceed our expectations in the regular season with the situations at hand. I can see us winnign anywhere from 45-47 games this year. We still have a good strong core and defensive is still a huge asset to our team..
Same for me. It's exciting this year because of all the unknowns. Also nice that there's no expectations for this group. I'm not going to stress out as much during games, which I'm happy about.
You say that NOW with Artest out of the picture and with expectations gone but just wait...... You'll be joining me in the padded room soon enough.
last season, with signing artest, having yao back, and supposedly, tmac...i was so happy...until everything went downhill with tmac
It's not really the excitement of watching our team trying to win a championship, but more of an excitement of finding gems among the roughs out there. We have a lot of raw potential, and it's exciting to see who is going to blossom and break out. Remember, someone is going to have to pick up the slack in terms of scoring. Our offense is not going to be fed through the same guys over and over again and will be more of a team offense which is much more interesting to watch. In terms of expectations, I don't expect much from this team, but I sure am excited to see what we can accomplish.
Positives going into this year compared to last year: - Brooks, Scola, Landry are more experienced, and playoff tested - We have the growth of Kyle Lowry to look forward to, instead of Rafer - Don't have to worry about Yao's durability throwing a wrench in our season - Tracy and Shane should come back healthier this year than last year - More emphasis on fast breaking, plus a player who's proven to excel in that style in Trevor Ariza - Much younger team -- Shane is the oldest and he's only 31 - Two intriguing rookies in Chase Budinger and Jermaine Taylor - More playing time for Chuck Hayes (hopefully ) - Best player (McGrady) is in a contract year
Definitely last season. This shouldn't even be a question. So much uncertainty fills this upcoming season. So much anxiety and expectation filled last season.
Last season, are you kidding me. If things all went as planned this would've been the starting lineup! PG-Steve Francis SG-Tmac SF-Ron Artest PF-Scola C-Yao It was surely droolworthy in a perfect world.
honestly, I can't wait for this season. it will be an underdog fight the whole way. I have ruled Yao out since that last article about his boot, but I have high hopes for Tracy McGrady believe it or not. I think the core of Scola, Shane, Brooks, Landry, and Hayes, along with Ariza in the mix; the Rockets can easily grab the 5th or 6th seed and make some noise if T-Mac is willing to do the work and play his role. Go Rockets
A better poll question would be to compare the 04-05 and 08-09 seasons, imo. When we first got T-Mac and when we got the so called "Big 3". Would be a closer poll.
