ok..i didn't want to have go into this. but there are black markets for magic wands and powders which, if used properly, can transport you directly to a seat into the new stadium. those magic sundries are still affordable.

but if you wanna just buy a ticket, be prepared to spend some jack.

Cowboy Players Struggle With Cheerleading Exam:

If you're going to make it in the Cowboys organization, you better cram like a sardine, because you'll take written tests on everything from Cowboys history to Texas culture to world affairs.

Not to make the football team. To make the cheerleading team.

The players don't have to take any quizzes. If you're 290 and can turn a running back into an oil stain, you could read at the equivalent of a mealworm and make it.

It's the cheerleaders who get grilled like it's Final Jeopardy. They take a nearly 100-question test during tryouts and are asked to name everything from the governor of Texas to a country that borders Iraq.

Remind me: What's this got to do with pom-poms?

Tryout coordinator: "Amber, that was a terrific triple-twisting salchow, and landing in a split was a surprise, but I'm afraid you gagged on the cold-fusion question. Get out."

"We want our cheerleaders to be knowledgeable and well-spoken in interviews," says Cowboys cheerleading boss Kelli Finglass. "If they're not, it's a deal breaker."

Cowboys players get interviewed every day. Shouldn't they have to take it? "Well, their job description is winning football games," Finglass says.

    Riiiiight.

Besides, if Cowboys players had to pass the same quiz before they could make the team, many of them would be bouncers at Showgirls today.

Which is exactly why we gave it to them.

Why not? Why should the cheerleaders have to know more than the players? It's not like anybody from Fox is going up to a cheerleader after the game, asking, "Incredible game! Where do you think it ranks in Cowboys history?"

We coerced 12 players into taking it. To their credit, they did it with good humor and open minds, just not always clever ones. Some examples:

Q: Name the Six Flags of Texas.

A very tough question. Only backup QB Jon Kitna nailed it. "Oh, my kids have been schooling me on this. Mexico, Spain, France, United States, Republic of Texas and the Confederacy. Thanks to my kids, I just learned that!" Nearly all 11 others thought it was an amusement park question. Need to get some kids.

Q: Name the two ex-Cowboys quarterbacks in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Everybody got it right except G Travis Bright, who answered Troy Aikman but forgot Roger Staubach, and S Pat Watkins, who answered, "Joe Namath and Troy Aikman." Yep, who can forget ol' Beltway Joe?

Q: Name a country that borders Iraq.

Ten of 12 got it right (Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Turkey), although WR Miles Austin and CB Orlando Scandrick said Afghanistan, which is about 750 miles away. Gotta at least pause at CNN once in a while, boys.

Q: Who is the governor of Texas?

This one was hopeless. Only TE Jason Witten and DE Marcus Spears got it right: Rick Perry. Interesting fact about the governor of Texas: He doesn't have to take a quiz either.

    Q: List three lean proteins.

"Like, foods?" asked LB Keith Brooking.

    Uh, yes, foods.

"Tuna fish," he tried. "I don't know, man."

    Watkins replied, "Fish, chicken, duck."

WR Sam Hurd listed, "Steak, chicken and pasta."

Pasta? No. Some correct answers: fish, skinless poultry, lentils, beans, soy products and lean meats. Definitely not duck.

Q: In how many Super Bowls have the Dallas Cowboys appeared?

Pretty simple question, right? One that might come up in interviews, appearances, book signings? But only one player in 12 -- Bright -- answered correctly, with eight. Not to be harsh, but 70 percent of Texas schoolkids will get that one right.

Overall, some of the Cowboys would've flunked before they got to show off their herkies, except DE Marcus Spears. He nailed nearly every question. That figures. Spears, who went to LSU, says friends made fun of him back when he was a kid for getting good grades and being smart.

Me, if I were a Cowboy and things got crazy on the sideline this season and I had no idea what the coach just meant, I'd find Spears.

    Or, better yet, a cheerleader.

This is a sad statement of the education system that promotes and coddles these athletes from Jr. High through College because they are athletically talented or gifted. I'd venture to say that the % of idiots is consistent league wide and isn't just a problem in Dallas.

I do like knowing the DC Cheerleaders are smart though... I like my women with brains as well as looks.

Um, what does knowing the Cowboys HOFers, how many Super Bowls the Cowboys have been in, the current governor of Texas, or even really the Six Flags of Texas have to do with the education system?

Most of the guys on the Cowboys roster aren't from Texas and will probably only play for the Cowboys for two or three years max. Furthermore, I'd bet a significant number of the guys on the roster don't even permanently live in Texas.

A lot of these athletes have been given breaks and pushed through the education system because of their athletic talent. Some choose to take advantage and get a good education for free because of it and some choose to coast through and do the minimum. That's just he way it is. This is a problem across the board not just with the Cowboys but with all sports.

You're right, the education system needs to teach everyone which Cowboy QBs are HOFers, the governor of Texas, and how many super bowls the Cowboys have been in.

I never said that and don't think that at all.

The six flags that flew over Texas is basic history. The governor of Texas is current and if you live in Texas, even part half of the year, you should know this.

The fact is A lot of these athletes have been given breaks and pushed through the education system because of their athletic talent. Some choose to take advantage and get a good education for free because of it and some choose to coast through and do the minimum. That's just he way it is. This is a problem across the board not just with the Cowboys but with all sports.

You either just like to argue or have an understanding problem.

Please. If you want to get in to a pissing match about which team is better, how many playoff games have the texans even played in? This decade? How many championships do the texans have? Ill even let you count the oilers. How many winning seasons have the texans had?

I'm not afraid to admit the giants are a better team. That doesn't remove the chance that the cowboys will probably make the playoffs this year, and until the texans make it you don't have much of an argument.

Everyone has a different definition of what affordable is. $75 doesn't seem outrageous to me, assuming you eat before the game, and get one drink (beer or soda) you're under $100 per person.

JJ is only charging what people are willing to pay and can afford. If they can't or won't then he will be forced to drop the prices.

Nice attempt to save face, but you got served a giant mug of humility on that one.

Win something other than the award for most people disillusioned people in one place at one time and the least necessary tv on earth and then we'll talk.

And before you go on about Cowboy/Dallas hatred, I couldn't give less a sh** about the city or the team.

    Unless its the Mavs...

Whoa, I'm a huge Cowboys fan but I haven't seen anything this year that leads me to believe they will "probably" make the playoffs.

The secondary is highly suspect. The Defense overall is very passive and hasn't generated any turnovers or pressure on the QB, and pressure the QB was the only thing the D did good last year.

Barber is already banged up and Romo continues with his roller coaster play.

Beating TB and then losing to NY at home doesn't lead me to believe they are playoff bound.

If they can get the D, the stupid mental mistakes and the turnovers solved then they might have a chance but until they start doing those things, which are the same things that lead to the Eagles kicking their asses out of the playoffs last year then I'm not ready to pencil them in to the wild card much less the division title.

Or maybe a socio-political system that unintentionally steered certain groups of people to sports and entertainment by denying them opportunities elsewhere. Or just the fact that running and jumping really fast doesn't require good math or reading skills; and never, ever has.

I don't want to either, but you're the one who brought it up first. I don't hate the Cowboys nearly as much as the titans or colts.

Well, since the Texans can't make the playoffs when they don't exist, how about since 2002? The answer is 2 less than the Cowboys. And again, we have just as many playoff wins.

Here we go with the ancient history again. I guess by this logic, Notre Dame is better than UT this year because they have more championships.

You probably thought the same thing last year. Frankly, this years team doesn't look as good as last year's (non-playoff) team. See VooDooPope's post.

I think the Texans have about the same chance of making the playoffs this year as the Cowboys do.

haha man take a deep breath and relax. The Cowboys hate in this thread is so transparent and infantile we might as well be on an ESPN board.

We get it, you guys hate the Cowboy's, Jerry Jones, and most of all the city of Dallas. Writing your 50 page anti-cowboys manifesto gives me the giggles. It's hard to take any argument seriously when you are so controlled by your adolescent and mostly baseless hatred of Dallas.

And why even mention the Texans? Is it a good idea to debate the merits of a franchise that has never sniffed the playoffs? The Cowboys have tradition and the Texans do not. Yes, it has been a long time since the Cowboys made the playoffs..... but the Texans have never had a winning season! You don't even have a glass house to throw rocks from! You live under a bridge!
