Alternate Jersey Unveiling Thread (UPDATE: Design of jersey, shorts)

Man, what a fail. Did the makers consult with the general public at all?? The only thing they got right was "HOUSTON" but even that could do without the slant.

Fix the slant, make the number white, and inverse the yellow and white on the sides, and you've got a clean jersey.

 

No more Chinese connection please.

 

Yep, I agree, they should have posted a survey for fans to select on several concepts.

I have the same idea about the sides, the yellow is overpowering the white, they should have gone to a much conservative sides design, but then again it's just an alternate and I think more improvements will come. Much like the team, they are getting there and when they have achieved perfection, Houston will be Champions again!

this might sound sacrilegious, but these quite possibly look even better than the championship classic threads. just the perfect combination of colors and lettering. absolutely beautiful.

I'm glad we finally got some alt jerseys. Not sure why everyone is so ungrateful, it's better than nothing.

i have to admit, i didnt like it immediately, because i was expecting to be blown away. however, the more i look at it, the more I like it. i cant wait to get one of these jerseys now. good job, wish i could retract my initial vote

It IS a mix of the old and new. No one officially said it was going to be a new replica of the Championship jerseys. I think it is a nice clean look. Trust me, people will buy it because it is "new". I mean people dont buy jerseys to wear everyday, typically. Those who do, will buy it and wear it anyway. I think it will look good in action.

Overall, I like... I look at them from the perspective of what it looks like on the court because Im not one to wear jerseys.

These jersey along with the current jerseys make us look like a weak team or. Charlotte, okc, kings, it's horrible why not take a page put of the lakers or celtics books. The lettering is so ugly and as if it wasn't bad enough they slant it. I don't mind the colors but the lettering is horrible. I honestly didn't mind pinstripes and I they would
do a bull style jersey that would be awesome why not follow the new them with the blood red?

It looks ok nothing fancy. I like the current unis though. They are simple yet elegant. The alternate has a sense of nostalgia to it but I am not content to just be fed with nostalgia.

The championships were eons ago and the Rockets brain thrust should really put the pedal to the metal and go for a championship soon. I hope Morey is not doing a Jerry Krause on the Rockets, like tinkering here and there but going nowhere ever since MJ retiredl.

How will they do it? I don't know how as I am not the GM, owner or coach, but I am paying with hard cash from my hard earned dollars to support the Rockets. I am doing my share like most fans in this forum but making decisions for this team is certainly not in my pay grade and I am first to admit that I do not have the competence to do the job of the top people in the organization. I just want to taste another championship, and for regular fans like me, that is all I am asking for.

Yeah, those are nice. More of an old school design. The younger generation may not like it as much.

well yeah they're old school, they're throwbacks...I don't think they would go back to the exact same design they've had before.

And actually, I think the younger generation (the ones that wear throwback jerseys everywhere) are pushing for the classic design more than anyone.

 

I'd rather just see Ana Megan sport the new jersey... she makes the jersey look good. Dont know how the players will make them look.
