If you were the Clippers who would you package with the two picks for Miller?

I would get rid of Maggette. The guy is probably the most inconsistent player in the league...could drop 30, then go for 5 the next night. And besides, Q Rich should be starting anywayz.

I'm not that big of a fan of D Miles either...I don't see any goto moves, jumpshot...etc. He's important for chemistry I guess.

 

I would say screw the Cavs and Miller and their Miles demands and trade Wilcox, Ely and Odom or Miles for the better player in Baron Davis and cap fillers.

PF: Brand/?
SF: Miles or Odom/Maggette
SG: QRich/Piatkowski/Maggette
PG: Baron/Jaric/Dooling

The starting guards could drain shots all night from beyond 15 feet. Piatkowski would give even more outside shooting off the bench. The duo upfront of Kandi and Brand would be monsters inside and on the boards. The SF position in beyond solid, and the team would still be all over highlight reels with Baron, Miles or Odom and Maggette running the break. The only question marks would be the backups at PF and C. I don't remember the situation with McInnis (whether he was leaving via FA or whatever), but I would try to sign a decent big man or two to the 4.5 million and 1.2 million exceptions or trade one of the extra PG's Dooling or McInnis for a decent backup PF or C.

 

are we to assume that sterling plans to pay the max (or very close too) for brand, miller, miles, and olowokandi? until he hands out one hefty deal to a Clipper, i think trading for a player that's about to earn a HUGE raise is foolish...

 

At this point, I don't really know......Odom most likely.

On a side note, it's sad that a player like Olowokandi can get the Max.

I would send Wilcox, Maggette,and Jaric to the Cavs for Miller. Wilcox will not fit with Brand,and Q Rich can be a starting SG like Mobley is for the Rockets. Jaric could be a backup for Wagner.

 

I guess Im the most extreme of all.

I see miller as a dominating player like francis.I see odom/miles/q/olowocandi/jaric/ all as good players,not allstars .

I would trade wilcox/odom or miles/quentin/ for miller.

Id keep ely as a backup to candi.Actually I wouldnt pay candi since he is the second coming of cato.

I would rebuild,I might even trade brand(id rather have tyson than brand)

There whole team sucks except odom,ironically odom is the player they mostlikely will get rid of.

I guarentee a team of odom/andre miller or davis/brand/jaric/ely is better than the crap they have now.



Luckily for us rocket fans,we have two dominating players in ming/francis,and maybe griffin to.

Cleveland sends Miller/Mihm or Doleac/Stith/Boozer(draft rights) to the Clippers.

The Clippers send Odom/Maggette/Wilcox(draft rights)/Jaric(draft rights)/future #1 pick.

The Clippers give up a lot in this trade, but Miller would give them the franchise PG they need. Mihm or Doleac would give the Clippers another 7 footer to back up Kandi, Boozer could back up Brand & Ely, & Stith could fill the hole where Maggette was. If the Clippers continue to improve, the future #1 will most likely be a mid to late first round pick.

To answer the question, I'd trade a perimeter player that can't shoot, and look to replace them. It's easier to pick up a g or sf and they come cheaper. So Miles or Maggette. They have too many pfs now, so you can send one of those, too, or use them to get a good shooting g. Ideally, a pf/g package of Ely/Miles - you don't have to pay Miles now, you pay Miller at market (do pgs max, anyway?). You pay Brand, you match Kandi at market, you match Odom at market or trade him for young shooters. You keep Q. You keep or trade Maggette, depending on price. Your payroll is in order

Kandi 8
Odom 7 (or trade for cap room)
with Q or Maggette (not both)
and the rookie pfs filler

Obviously - they need another trade for shooters at 2 and 3.
