Alternate Jersey Unveiling Thread (UPDATE: Design of jersey, shorts)

Actually after taking another look at the jerseys I really like them...except for the font of "HOUSTON" and the number. It doesn't match with the jersey at all. It's as if they were photoshopped on the front.

 

Can't say I'm thrilled with them. I was hoping for something more retro.

 

I like it. looks mcdonalds-ish but hey, that's what they also said about our championship jerseys. simple and not trying to hard. /thumbs up

Nobody does retro there days. Just look at Charlotte, Orlando, Mavs, Hornets...

why must they ALWAYS mess up the font. they always try to go over the top instead of taking the safe route. i like the rest of it, reminds me of the good ole days, but the font is ridiculous.

Is there a team out there using Helvetica?

The old Rockets jerseys used slab serif letters, kinda like Aachen or Varsity.

Bud Adams took the Oilers away from me and every year the Rockets keep picking crappy uniforms I feel like the great memories from my younger days are slowly being stolen away as well.

Les is no Bud, thank goodness, but come on. Throw us oldsters a bone every now and then.

 

For those talking about the Houston font, maybe it looks like that because the jersey itself is hanging, making the font look squished together, and not stretched out.

 

This was the train of logic which inspired the dildo pajamas.

i don't mind the mcdonald's thing as others are. its really just the fact that these possibly couldn't be any uglier that bothers me.

i honestly don't know why they keep trying to get cute with all of this and don't just make something simple and classic.

Really can't tell what the shoulder style is but those are pretty ugly for the most part. The font is the worst part imo.

 

couldn't agree more. I don't understand we these "clowns" no pun intended, cannot get the font type right. It's been what 6 years since the current disaster.

Looks like a Japanese anime version of our old unis spliced in with the Cavs jersey somehow.

 

I like 'em. Yes, it's a mashup of the current jersey and the championship jersey, with a better fabric. I don't think there's a thing wrong with that. However, judging by the reactions in this thread, I suspect I'm in the minority.

Perhaps this uniform will go the way of the synthetic ball; if people complain often enough and loudly enough, it will go away.
