    For those with Insider.

[rquoter]They've already been ticketed for Lotteryville with Yao Ming expected to miss the entire season recovering from foot surgery, Ron Artest going to the Lakers and Tracy McGrady coming back from microfracture surgery on his knee. Understandable, perhaps, but it's a stance that completely ignores the toughness and versatility coach Rick Adelman and his plucky band of role players have developed in the intermittent absence of their stars the past two years. As dominant as Yao can be and as integral as he was to both their offense and defense last season, their small lineup was equally dangerous at times. It was that style, after all, that produced 16 of their 22 consecutive wins two seasons ago. The big question will be McGrady and whether he embraces the chance to make the Rockets his team again or maintains the same "forget-you" attitude that prompted him to abruptly have surgery when rumors abounded that he was about to be traded. It won't take long to find out.

few weeks old now, but not much useful info in there. Chuck is gonna play more and be more important with Yao out, Barry is getting old and sucking more than he used to, and Scola could have a breakout year as a go-to guy if he can learn to pass out of double teams and consistently do what he did against the lakers (take the pounding inside that a go-to post man takes)

That probably would've been the most common opinion of any randomly picked Clutchfans member for about 6 months now. Thanks for the "new" info Hollinger/Bucher.

The 10 out of 22 had a completely healthy McGrady. It remains to be seen what he can do when he come back. Let's not forget there will be a lot of attention on him,Brooks and Luis. Ariza,Landry and Andersen will have to do quite a lot of scoring to ease pressure for them. Good defense will help, but the lack of interior defense baring Chuck can prove fatal.

Dorsey/Pops and he can't make up for the lack of Yao and Deke. If Lowry is not able to play like a starting 1,we will not make it.

Thanks for correcting me. We will have to see when can he come back and will he make it through the majority of the season because of his injury history.

Rockets are probably looking like a lottery team this season.

When Trevor Ariza is your go-to player...

Scola and Brooks ring a bell? I bet we will be hella efficient this year as all the ball stoppers from last year are gone. Losing Yao Ming kinda hurts, but he was never really healthy last season either and had a lot of horrible games. The big question IMHO are Battier and Ariza going to be able to hit their open perimeter 3s? With no star players on the team and AB doing all the slashing inside if they can't hit the 3 teams will just play zone and kill us.

They hit it we're in playoffs, if not we'll end up in lottery.

I love the prevailing theory that McGrady had potentially career-threatening surgery simply because he wanted to stiff his team which was expected to be a major contender with him healthy. I should do that next time my boss gives some constructive criticism of my work habits. "OH YEAH? Well, I'm going to go get a heart bypass. How do you like them apples?!"

I do not underestimate this band of Rockets lead by Rick Adelman. I have high hopes, deep beliefs that we will, we must Fight, Fight!, Fight!
