aint gotta web cam...sorry. But don't worry, I my voice doesn't sound like a lil female dog...that I can assure you. what is wrong with basketball-reference.com though...??
You assume people have zero facts, it is a message board but you can not assume that kind of thing. Now that doesn't mean they do have facts but starting from that position is fairly close minded. DD
I never denied that Rockets fans were happy about that. Of course we were. We had damn good reason to be. What I'm saying is that being a Rockets fan and being a McGrady fan are not mutually exclusive. In fact, if anything they SHOULD be mutually inclusive, but I can at least understand why some Rockets fans are disappointed in McGrady. What I don't understand is your implication that if someone is a real Rockets fan, they have to want McGrady dead or something. I also never said that McGrady deserved credit for getting out of the first round last year... But it's just play foolish to say that we wouldn't have done the same thing and then some with a healthy McGrady in the lineup. We got out of the first round last year for two reasons: 1. Deepest team we've had since the championship years. 2. Most favorable matchup we've had since the TWolves in 97. NOT because McGrady wasn't there.
Nah, I thought you wouldn't share anything noteworthy for the clutchfans. you tend to use find stats to fill in the void of not seeing the game or player. posters like durvasa uses stats to compliment his argument based on experience. well, so and so didn't shoot this percentage, therefore he wasn't that good. basketball-reference doesn't show you chemistry or hustle. it's ok to admit you never saw a certain player play.
Gladly... He isn't right for doing this, and I don't like many of the things Tmac says...I pay attention to what he does on the court though... But being a Kinesiology major at UH (exercise science), I was required to take Sports Psychology and Social and Cultural Aspects of Sports...made an A in both classes. This isn't every star player, but this type of behavior is more typical of an elite athlete. When an elite athlete succeeds, he credits internal forces (himself) for the success, because of hard work, practice, being a great player, etc. However, when an elite athlete fails, he is more prone to blame external forces for the failure, such as coaches, teammates, refs, bad shooting day, etc. On the flip side, when an average athlete succeeds, he is more likely to credit external forces for the success, such as the other team left me open, teammates, coach, luck, great shooting day, etc. But when an average athlete fails, he is more likely to blame internal forces (himself) for the failure, such as, not playing smart, took bad shots, couldn't guard the other player, etc. This is what I learned at a University...not some website or anything. I'm not condoning Tmac's behavior...but apparently, it does happen, from what research has shown us. The Sports Psychology class was taught by Dr. Lindsey Edwards and the the Social and Cultural Aspects of Sports was taught by Dr. Demetrius Pearson.
hahaha, when did I say that? I didn't like his attitude about his injury, I didn't like his comments about his teammates, and I didn't like how he forgoes the team and goes to ESPN at the trade deadline to announce he's done for the season. besides that, I think he's been a good Rocket. some people here have put him a pedestal like he's Michael Jordan, but I just don't agree with that. if he's one of our top two players, he deserves the praise for success and criticism for failure. tired of 'it's not his fault' postings cause he's responsible like Steve Francis was when he was the most hyped player on our team.
I agree, I don't I dont talk about Moses, or even the 86 rockets, since I never saw them play Although I only saw a handful of games from 92-95, I did see enough games (cuz they were playoff games, where the pressure is on to perform) and I made posts with those videos and the stats (which NEVER lie) It would be inaccurate for me to say that I never saw Hakeem play, because I saw him in games from 1992-1995 (on tape) and from 96-2001, I watched every game I could (didn't have cable back then) The same can be said about Horry, Elie, Cassell, Smith, Drexler, Thorpe, etc. and I saw almost all of the SF3 and Cat days, and the SF3 and Yao, and the Yao and Tmac era. Yet, you still dismiss my posts even about the Yao and Tmac era...which is from when I was 15, definetily old enough to remember watching live.
Well, the authors who wrote the textbook have done or collected more research than all of us...I doubt a respected University would teach BS all day... It didn't say ALL elite athletes act liket that, it said MOST act like that It didn't say ALL average athletes act like that, it said MOST act like that But, I would be interested in some research you've done on this topic to see your scientific evidence
IMO it sounds like another excuse. Basicly, what your research is saying is elite athletes have no integrity by blaming others but themselves?
I gave TMac credit for last year. See http://bbs.clutchfans.com/showthread.php?t=162444 So, I did give TMac credit ... credit for 5 losses.
Don't believe you saw Cooper play besides whenever you saw him on NBATV on classic nba. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4747039&postcount=37 You are just throwing random facts about Bird and the 80s, you never saw them play besides random videos. Russell, Wilt, and Jerry West? definitely wouldn't accept your take on them. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=174186&page=3&pp=20 Say an older poster like Deckard told me this, he wouldn't talk about the # of MVPs, he would talk about Bird or West's play and his exeperiences. Yeah you do talk alot about pre-90s when you were zero years old.
Well in that case, we agree on several things. ... But being hyped up doesn't mean that he carries more responsibility. Adding hype doesn't add talent. It's not McGrady's fault how much or how little hype he accumulated. Sure, he brought with him a lot of expectations to Houston, but lack of depth in the early years, and injuries in the later years kept those expectations from being met. Neither of which are really McGrady's fault.
So if we fail again with McGrady? do we can Adelman? do we trade Yao? Get rid of Morey? Are people here wanting decisions made to improve the organization or to improve McGrady's resume? I'm here for the Rockets, Tmac certainly got his time for the Rockets and definitely was well compensated for it.
