This is for you DD...for your little challenge to me http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=174586&page=3&pp=20 post # 50 Tmac had a bad shooting game, and they left Rafer open and he hit 8 3's. Tmac didn't try to force the issue, he made the right play, and after that its up to the player to hit the shot.
one more to add http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=174585&page=3&pp=20 post #48 You'll say what about the shooting %'s? I agree, that Tmac did shoot bad (sub 40%) but Yao's field goal % dropped as well. There is a reason for that...Utah basically weren't gonna let Yao or Tmac see any daylgiht and make Rafer, Battier, Howard, Head, Hayes, and Deke beat them.
OK, you do know what a qualifier is, right? It means not giving an excuse after the criticism, so far you are failing pretty badly. DD
Sounds like you still say it was ok for the dip because Yao's dipped as well. I'm not the one who issued the challenged, DD did but if you are seriously going to try to find that one post you should probably read it thoroughly before citing it as evidence as a direct criticism of Tmac.
I said he had a bad shooting game...and he did make the right play by realizing his bad shooting and getting it to the guy on fire that day (Rafer) one more to add as well: Ya, Tmac did shoot free throws bad, but he and Yao were the only ones getting there, because the Jazz didn't bother guarding the other guys cuz outside of Battier, none of them could shoot. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=174585&page=4&pp=20 post #65
I am hoping he can do it, but I have read most of his posts and I can honestly not recall him ever directly criticising him without planting tulips right after. So far.....not even close..bud ! DD
Its the truth...if one of the most efficient players in the NBA field goal % drops...it aint no fluke. I'm not trying to make excuses, but there has to be a reason why Yao shot 8% less than his season average and Tmac shot 4% less than his season average. Yao is too good a shooter to miss that much 1-on-1. He was doubled A LOT in that series, because the Jazz knew Rafer and Hayes weren't going to make them pay and Tmac onyl shot 25 % from the 3 point line himself.
Game 4, with a few seconds left...that part I do blame. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=174585&page=5&pp=20 post #93 but Bobby Jackson's 1/10 night didn't help, neither did Rafer's 6/18, or Tmac's 9/25 and Scola fouling out... I don't see any excuses about his shooting here...
Uh-huh, so now you can see why your credibility is not all that great concerning Tmac, as all your posts read like hero worship. It is ok, we can tell you are a fan of Tmac's....... I am not. No worries, we can still root for the Rockets. But.....in the paraphrased words of the Soup Nazi ! "No REP for you !" DD
In case you missed it, I just gave another one Game 4, with a few seconds left...that part I do blame. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthrea...85&page=5&pp=20 post #93 but Bobby Jackson's 1/10 night didn't help, neither did Rafer's 6/18, or Tmac's 9/25 and Scola fouling out... I don't see any excuses about his shooting here...
I said Tmac's 9/25 shooting didn't help our cause in Game 4 in 2008 either vs. Utah...in reference to 1 possession costing us the game. It should've never came to that, but as badly as the team shot, our defense kept us in the game but had we shot better, it would've never came down to the missed rebound...
I don't see why I'm the target here... I defend Tmac, because he along with Yao and Scola are the only ones who have consistently produced in the playoffs. But, there are very few if any Yao bashing threads (anytime i see a Yao vs. Dwight, I always defend Yao...I hardly criticize him) Anything about Dream vs. Shaq or DUncan...I ALWAYS defend dream, since he was more versatile on both ends. Those are my opinions and I put stats in my posts to add some validity to my reasoning... Basketball is not a 1 person game...if 1, 2, or 3 guys on your team aren't producing...the defense will focus on those who are and just dare the other guys to beat them. I'm not making it up...last time I checked, basketball-reference.com doesn't lie... Am I a fan of Tmac's? Yes, when he's healthy and productive, I'm a big fan of his...but thats not why I defend him. I think, just like JVG, he gets way too much blame for the Rockets playoff losses. Who has played better for Rockets in the playoffs since 2005?? Yao shot well, but he didn't rebound well enough or stay out of foul trouble (though the refs might have had something to do with that...) Do I defend Tmac a lot, sure I do...as far as the playoff failures being ALL ON HIM...as many here feel. I always say, "critique his shooting %'s, his leadership, fast break 3's, and his ball dominance, just make sure its something that warrants criticism." So I don't know why everybody has something against what I say...I put stats up. What else do yall want me to do?
TBK, I am not trying to target you per se, just put out a challenge. Feel free to accept it or ignore it. No biggie.....it is all good...you like Tmac..I get it. DD
