Please let him go already. I don't want to be a sucker over and over again. Let us have an enjoyable season with the warriors the Rockets have led by Scola, Battier, Landry and Ariza. Let the whiners and faint of heart leave.
First of all... He's still a Rocket. Are you a Rocket's fan? Or a Scola, Battier, Landry, Ariza fan? Do you forget all the things he's done for us? And if he were a whiner with lack of heart, would he be working his ass off to come back?
What has he done for us? Besides bring pathetic drama queen and giving us 2nd round virgin status, that we eventually got rid of when he wasn't playing? Really, tell me what has he done for us? Regular season wins? That's something our rivals the Jazz-Hole appreciate, not us.
Listen Rookie... Watch the playoff games he has played as a Rocket. Dallas Series - Was a long time ago, but I recall at least one game winner. The guy averaged about 30ppg, 7apg, 7rpg that series. He's the reason our team even lasted 7 games. Look at our roster then... First series vs the Jazz - 25, 7, 6 2nd Series vs the Jazz - 27, 7, 8 on a bum knee/shoulder. Do you not remember game 6, where the team was pretty much absent as Tracy was arguably the only one out there trying to win? The game was pretty much over, and Tmac was still giving all that he could (again, on a bum knee and shoulder). Drama queen? -- Joke. 2nd Round virgin status? -- Says a lot about how ignorant you are. I simply gave you a BASIC overview of his playoff history with the Rockets. He's given us plenty of regular season memories, but I won't go there.
Nice stats, Tracy, unfortunately he didn't give us the stat that matters the most the win. You can make excuses all day for Tracy McGrady, but the reality is he's a loser. Never got out of the 1st round, East or West coast despite having arguably the most dominant big man on his side. You don't think he's a Drama Queen? Shows your knowledge. So you are saying, Fans would be criticizing us about our 2nd round appearances since the 90s even without T-Mac?
I didn't say it's his fault entirely, but if you don't think he has anything to do with it, then you are giving him too big of a pass.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200704260UTA.html Game 3 vs. Utah 2007 Only 4 players from the Rockets scored the entire game!! Please elaborate on how great Luther, Juwan, Rafer and Snyder are... Please also tell me who was there to create something besides Tmac? Please tell me how Yao was going to stop Boozer or how Rafer was gonna stop Deron WIlliams. Tell me how we even did as well as we did with CHuck Hayes as our STARTING POWER FORWARD who is offensively challenged. I mean, Tmac has been surrounded by talent for most his entire career like Tim DUncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Chauncey Billups Its not made up...perhaps they play okay during the season, when teams play you 2-4 times over a 6 month period. But our role players dissappeared vs. Utah and Yao had a serious mismatch on defense. Tmac can't make Rafer shoot better than 34% fg's and 32% 3pt fg's Tmac can't make Luther show up, he can't make Hayes shoot free throws better. He can't give Dikembe offensive skill, he can't keep Juwan Howard and Luther head's playoff production from dropping in half scoring wise. He can't keep Yao from turning the ball over 5 times a game and he can't give him quicker feet to guard Boozer or Okur...not Yao's fault either. Battier was the one guy who shot well, but he only shot 7 times per game...he camps out in the corner and they didn't leave him...they left Rafer and Hayes instead. don't beleive those stats...click on the link below and see for yourself. (compare regular season #'s vs. playoff #'s) http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2007.html You'll say what about the shooting %'s? I agree, that Tmac did shoot bad (sub 40%) but Yao's field goal % dropped as well. There is a reason for that...Utah basically weren't gonna let Yao or Tmac see any daylgiht and make Rafer, Battier, Howard, Head, Hayes, and Deke beat them. It was easy for them to focus completely on Yao and Tmac. Reason why Yao also averaged nearly 5 TO's a game as well. But they did what they could. Yao averaged 11 FTA's a game, Tmac averaged 8 FTA's a game. Only 20% of Tmac's shots were 3 pointers (5 3pt FGA's per game). Tmac also had 30 more assists than turnovers for the series (only 21 TO's in 7 games) averaged 7.7 apg Honestly, what more could Yao and Tmac have done?? Yao was not even 100% mobility wise...that was evident when you saw him play. Therefore, I think your argument fails...I got the stats to prove it. I don't just base it on my like/dislike of a player.
Okay, then I'll rephrase my question. What did Tracy have to do with us losing any of these playoff games?
Read Post #48 Stats show that Tmac and Yao had the least to do with our playoff failures They showed up to play in the playoffs...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=270505010&period=4 I'll add it all up Tracy's FG: 3-7 Tracy's FT: 2-3 Looks average, seems as if he played up to par, but didn't elevate like a real star should have.
