Is there anywhere I can go to in Austin to watch the Rockets games? NBA League Pass is out of the question because I'm stayin in a dorm...
We went to this sports bar that is part of a holiday inn hotel called "legends" in northwest austin when we felt like catching a game. They had all of the sports packages there. Service SUCKED, food was ok, prices were average. Pretty good atmosphere, and LOTS of tv's to watch games on. Pretty fun when playoff time rolls around. (we watched lots of dallas stars games there.) Just don't expect to get your grub the same day you ordered it....
Closer to campus, you've got several good choices. Aussies (Riverside and Barton Springs) has all the games, good service, good food, and plenty of televisions. The Tavern (12th and Lamar) has the games-at least they did during the 2000-2001 season. BW3 on 6th St. just got all the packages as well, and they've got kick ass wings. There's also Showplace Lanes on I-35 between Braker and Rundberg (I believe). You've got plenty of options and normally some of us get together at least twice a month to watch the games.
Do you have friends off campus that could order it? Nothing beats watching Rockets games in the comfort of your own or friends place.
This is great news, I won't be missing all of the non-nationally televised games after all! Are you also a student here at UT? I wanna come along when you guys go out to watch games. -CLF
