I havent seen him play much, but just the guy's attitude is a breath of fresh air so far. He just looks so genuinely thrilled to be here and so excited to simply get a chance to play in the NBA. So many NBA stars seem to be always looking for the next pay raise or feeling like they never get enough respect, or trash taling or blah blah blah. me me me...but this Nachbar guy is so excited just to get a chance, that he's out "dancing." He's writing thank you notes. He is lapping up everything rockets and loving it - not as a public service message, but because he seems to really like being here. So Nachbar brings more to this team than a mean outside shot, his refreshing attitude will help the Rockets too.

I just hope the "team" excepts him. Did you ever notice how Langi & Collier alway hung together, isolated from the "others"? I don't want that to happen to Ming & Nachbar. Please Rockets stop the clicks, come together as a TEAM.

I think Nachbar and ming will have to prove to the others that they belong here. I understand Nash and Nowitzki went through a sort of isolation/adjustment period at Dallas as well. When they proved themselves worthy, the rest of the team couldnt help but include them. Actually, having Nachbar on the team might help ming a bit - and vice versa. I mean, Slovenian culture and Chinese culture are hardly the same thing, but both players being from elsewhere might help each other adjust.

This is absolutely the truth and Nachbar has already said he is looking forward to playing with Ming. So he has already taken a step in teaming up with ming. They will become friends and that will help both of them. If they had traded the 15th and somehow picked up Odom.

Ming would have been a man on his own for a long time. You have to understand teams are a fraternity. When you spend that much time together, especially on long road trips you can't help but get close and it's natural to be distrustful of anyone knew entering that fraternity. Also it's normal to be supportive of anyone being threathened to be kicked out of it. So Ming and Nachbar are threats until they pay thier dues and become part of the brotherhood. Winning will speed up that process.

This has prabably been said before somewhere, but how outstanding it is that the Rockets and their coach are so well known and liked outside the U.S.! First, that Yao's parents were relieved only when Rudy T., who was known to them, appeared. Then, to have Nachbar reportedly fall in love, by all accounts, with Houston, is remarkable.

I'm also impressed with the quality of the team the Rockets had to clear all the hurdles and get the negotiations with China done in time. Not including a government, at its highest level, no less, the achievement still would be a sign of a tight organization. Add China and all of the complexity and politics it represents, I'm somewhat dumbfounded.

The Rockets are well run and seem blessed with the luck they've had. For me, from Moses (when I began as a fan) through the championships and the bright future they have now, the Rockets' success and good fortune overshadow all the dissappointments in Houston sports history in the last 30 years.
