As far as player faults go.........McGrady's haven't been that bad. Sure, he could have handled last years situation better but he hasn't pulled: -Ron-Ron moments - Drunken Driving - Wife Beating. Basically he hasn't brought the organization any bad press due to his off the court deeds. Wish he could stay healthy longer.......but at least he hasn't embarrased us all by cheating on his wife with a hotel maid (LOL)
Important thing in this post above is the word "saw". You may see something and critic it, that's normal. It's start getting different when saw becomes "assumes". You don't know what happened with the injury situation last year but you assume he did it so he couldn't get traded to a crappy team. I tend to think the injury is real when you need micro fracture surgery.. Btw did you start being a Rockets fan when Adelman became coach? I sure didn't. One bad season with speculated wrong acts won't make me give up on a player as many as you do here. I still support Tmac as i've ALWAYS supported any Rockets player when they were the Red and silver/gold uniform. Even Pippen, when their not on the team, than stop supporting them. Until than your duty as a Rocket fan is to support the TEAM. It's amazing that I think that when Tmac has a great performance, if it were up to some people on this board, they'd rather him have a poor performance and lose just to say I told ya so.
Man this is going to be an awkward season for the team. Supporting some, rejecting others, yet it's followed by the stereotypical slogans like "Rockets Fan Only", and "It's about the name on the front of jerseys." I, for one, was bothered by his actions last year as well, he handled it like a superdouche. But give it a rest, he's on the team, he's still the best weapon we have, and we have no choice but to either root for him AND the team (mainly because he'll probably be the primary option again) or change teams to support. Because it looks like he's not, at least not yet. And before we mention anything about his playoff record, I firmly and undoubtedly believe we STILL would've stomped the Blazers and gave the Lakers a run for their money if he was healthy and playing. But that would probably still evoke more negativity and constant, useless debate regardless because there's mostly Tracy excusers and Tracy insulters apparently, there's very little in between. He's the enigma on this board, a pariah/cancer to some or a savior to others. Truth is, he's neither. He's not a dominant winner, but he's not a worthless loser either. He's just the best we have right now, thus the hope some people have that supports him because it then supports our team, which should be obvious.
I like your enthusiasm I wish all the best for Tracy but hes got a lot to prove and make up for before I have the need to hesitate if a good trade for him came along.
I don't understand this Tmac is selfish attitude... he consistently averages more assists than Kobe (who played WITH Shaq), while Tmac played with Tyronne Lue and Juwan Howard in Orlando. He's consistently averaged more assists than Pierce, Roy, Rip Hamilton, Kevin Martin, Vince carter, and Carmello Anthony the only 2 players who average more assists that are not point guards are Lebron James and Dywane Wade. Thats it. So how in the world is Tmac selfish?? Cuz he takes too many shots?? Well, he was just following the coach's gameplan. Did you ever see the Magic or JVG rockets run any real plays with ball movement? NEVER...in Orlando it was let TMac create and score for himself and the shooters stay outside for an open 3 if he got doubled. In Houston, it was the same thing, except Yao would get post ups as well...or the pick n' roll between them 2...really selfish right? He consistently gave the ball to Yao and got him dunks at the basket with pick n' rolls. Besides, who was gonna take the other shots in Orlando?? Andrew DeClerque, Pat Burke, Steven Hunter, Pat Garrity, Drew Gooden? THe one decent scorer he had was mike miller and he got him the ball plenty. In houston, besides Yao, who else was gonna score?? Luther, Rafer, Shane? Hayes or MUtombo? Howard? Despite all that, tmac always made the right play. If Chuck Hayes was open for a lay up, he passed it to him...sometimes he would miss it, but its the right play http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-44-67/Kobe-Bryant-s-Best-All-Time-Dunks.html Read the article above, and see if Tmac is as selfish as the guy mentioned in the article. Tmac was always more than a willing passer. During the 22 game winning streak, even if his shot was off, he would still make plays for others. Remember it was Rafer who had the big game in our 22nd win vs. LA. Tmac had a bad shooting game, and they left Rafer open and he hit 8 3's. Tmac didn't try to force the issue, he made the right play, and after that its up to the player to hit the shot.
I use to support him before he quit on the team in portland or oklahoma...I believe...that was gross....I can never look at tmac the same again....I hope he does good this yr, but riding his nuts is an option I choose not to do
I am not going to support an inefficient scorer who has to have the ball in his hands to be effective. The only guys who should handle the ball as much as he does are extremely efficient swingmen who can create for others (Wade, Lebron, Kobe somewhat) and true point guards. Anyone else is being a ball-stopper and breaking the flow of the offense. T-Mac and Iverson are both inefficient scorers who average a lot of assists by handling the ball a lot. T-Mac will do nothing but hold back the development of the rest of the team. He will not change his game to the cutting, fast-breaking game of a NBA SG/SF who doesn't handle the ball all game. He will complain about a lack of touches just like last time Adelman asked him to play that way.
Oh, shut up. I am TMac supporter but there are some things even TOFs must recognize: - he talks too much, - doesn't know when to be humble and - he does it again and again and agian, which proves he's not as smart as JVG, till then my no. 1 coach, said he is
Why should I shut up?? I've said repeatedly that Tmac says a lot of stupid things...I didn't mention anything about the stuff he says in my post, so you shut up! I'm talking basketball. He has ALWAYS been a willing passer. I'll even show you proof of that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npNRxAsn88Y that was on a terrible Orlando team, in which he probably should've taken many more shots, but he is a willing passer... thats why I don't understand where this "Tmac is a selfish basketball player" comes from. If he was all about his stats, he could've led the league in points more than twice. In 2008, he said he was glad that he didn't get voted in by the fans to the all star game because he said other guys like Brandon Roy had much better seasons. so please, tell me again, how is he selfish on the basketball court??
T-Mac being selfish??? Don't make me laugh too hard... He may be the most willing passer in the league at the 2/3 position.
